I feel like I should add that theoretically unsound openings are actually more risky for less experienced players because without knowing the theory you're counting on your opponent following a very specific script. As soon as they deviate from that script you're in a dark woods with many paths that don't lead you anywhere but into more danger. So yes, risky gambits are an exciting way to get a cheap victory if your opponent has no idea what they're up against but they more often end up with you having no idea how you ended you ended up where you are from where you started.
