#Caps forward Tom Wilson, who was injured on May 3 in Game 1 against Florida, underwent a successful surgical procedure on his left knee to reconstruct his torn ACL. Based on the nature of this procedure, Wilson is expected to miss 6-8 months.

I know ACL tears and knee surgeries aren't a death sentence like they used too. But Wilson is 28yrs old, 2yrs left on a deal making him 5.167aav. He's got a MNTC (7-team no trade list). He'll likely take a few months once playing to even be good on the ice as we all know if you start a season not playing, you're behind the 8-ball all yr.

This could really hurt Wilson's future money, and make him a good trade acquisition in 2023 if that is a route Washington wants to go. As in buy-low. Or if his knee causes his speed to disappear, he's gonna be an interesting follow as a fan.
