This was reported in the Swiss media today as well... No official confirmation yet though. I could relate to Koskinen: after years in Edm, the mediterranean climate of Lugano is probably exactly what the doctor orderedThere are certainly worse places to spend the twilight years of the hockey career in.

It would be in his best interest. He might get a sniff at a short-term nhl deal with a very needy team but he'd be best to make his money overseas.

I think he's still a NHL quality goalie. He's not consistent enough to be a full time starter but still a very capable backup. Maybe he wants to play as a starter and knows that's most likely not going to happen in the NHL.

Be surprised if he ends up overseas, he played pretty well second half of the season. I assume that Swiss deal is only lined up for if or when he's not given an NHL offer.

Hasn’t really proven himself enough to play in the playoffs. Watching a shaky 40 year old playing ahead of him. This will be an addition by subtraction for the Oil. Best of luck if it’s true.

Could be simply a verbal agreement or something with an out clause. He's not very good and it's a tough market for goalies in the NHL. It makes sense to try and claim your ideal spot before it gets taken by someone else.
