    Default Nicholas Paul in 2022-23

Nicholas Paul seems to be playing well in his current role filling in for Point in the playoffs for Tampa Bay. He is actually outplaying Cirelli offensively.

He is a UFA next year. Do you think Tampa Bay resigns him? If so, how much AAV?

From a multicat salary keeper league perspective, do you think he sees possible top 6 next year, in TB or elsewhere? He also contributes some peripherals in hits and FOW. Could he be a sleeper next year?

Yet another guy who gets out of Ottawa and has success. I'm sure TB will try and re sign him but it's likely they offer him a "show me" contract which makes sense, Nick has not got a track record anything close to what he is doing since moving to Tampa. Maybe a short term 2.5 - 3.5, but that's just a guess. Personally, I see Paul as a middle six swiss army knife type of player. If all goes well he could be a 50 - 60 pt guy with good peripherals. I do not see him as an elite scorer, rather, a complimentary type. That said, I think he is fantasy relevant now in a good number of multi cat leagues, a good own depending on depth.

Similar thoughts to Bubba on the player.
Contract projection sheet has him at $2.4M right now as an estimated AAV.

if he gets 2.4 and scores 60 points you laughing..i personally dont think it will happen...Playoffs are weird beast...but he did have 14 points in 21 regular season games in TB.

If tampa goes far and he is big contributor all the way through...i can see him being new Chris Versteeg where he gets contract way bigger then he can live up to...time will tell.

I can see him getting close to 40-50 points. Top 6 would be a stretch since he’s more suited for 3rd line duty. As for salary, if you are going to pay him more than $3M per year then you are paying a bit much. TB would love to re-sign him if the price is right. I like the “show me” idea.

Kind of a late bloomer or just a change of scenery but he's really stepped up since being with Tampa Bay. I think he'll be a sought after a player and based on that I think it'll outprice him for Tampa to be able to afford. I think he signs a multi-year deal elsewhere.
