Shout-out to SiriusXM NHL Ch. 91

Not sure how many have dialed into the Channel, but the luxury of having both the vehicle and the house hooked up gave me some decent quality time to listen to the opinions of everybody and his dog that knows something about hockey. Gave me a good amount of confidence in making quite a few-long term decisions in my dynasty leagues in the last 2 years. In particular, the chatter about prospects is quite high level, and, in a few cases, right on-the-money, ahead of the crowd.

Wondering if others have a good thing to say about the Sirius NHL gang.

The NHL station is employed by the NHL, and will refuse to talk ill about it, and hung up on people calling in trying to discuss the Chicago Blackhawks sexual assault cases. They also hang up on people who speak ill of reffing. And then go "we are all for hearing what you think, but if you just bash the refs we don't take that". Which I get after prolly thousands of phone calls. But there was a person who tried to have a discussion on having refs answer questions since players are being asked about reffing now, but get fined if they speak on it. And they hung up on him.

They rarely talk about negatives. Only positives because I've gotten the hint that they aren't allowed too.

They are fine for casual listening, but it's totally not a good source of reporting.

I enjoy the channel but usually only get to catch Ice Cap on my morning commute. Occasionally manage to snag the fantasy talk too. Overall I’d give them a pretty decent rating from someone who tunes in casually

For fantasy sports (not hockey), sports betting, general sports talk the RotoBaller station (CH.87) is way better than the hockey channel. Actually all the stations are better because yeah, it seems like the NHL is filtering what they can say. Annoying when there's a serious topic out there (CBH situation) they just don't touch it.

I enjoy listening to the NHL channel on SXM. And as it relates to prospects chatter, I agree with you. There is (or at least, was) a very good weekly show dedicated solely to prospects, I think on Saturday mornings. I haven't listened to it in a while, but when I did it was dry but chock full of good info.
