Default Sebastian Aho (C) for McTavish, Eklund & Lundquist

Mason, McTavish, William Eklund and Nils Lundquist for Sebastian Aho.

I would be the one acquiring Aho. I have a good young team and looking to compete in 2 years. So not really in a rush but hey.... it's Aho damn it! I love that kid and he's still only 24.

Fair price? Is there more growth to his game?

Why would you do that? Proven 80 point scorer with potential for more, focal point of teams offence, only 24…for 3 guys who haven’t played a game yet in the show? Hard pass for me.

Since you're the one acquiring Aho, I'd do it. I think McTavish and Eklund will be good players, but Aho is basically a star and I don't think any of the players you mentioned will get there. So yeah, I'd grab Aho while you can!

Best player in the deal right now and for years to come is Aho. You're paying a good price but this is an easy yes.

It would help if we knew what your roster looks like. I like adding Aho, absolutely, but I'm curious as to how much of an impact moving 3 Blue Chip prospects might have on your desire to compete in two years. A deal like this to win a championship now is a solid move and fairly common, however moving a ton of elite rookies for a player like Aho to compete in two years is a little less common. Right now this is a good deal, in 2 or 3 years however, it might not look so great.........

ditto this. on the surface right now this is a no brainer for Aho. BUUUT these rookies (esp Ek and MM) have the chops to be that guy too in the window you're looking at.

Agree here as well. I'm especially fond of MM, and considering that you have shots and hits as categories, his value increases. Also, Eklund was (still is?) widely regarded as the best fantasy guy in his draft class. Those guys both showed well in brief stints in the bigs, and as mentioned, could become very relevant very soon.

Thanks for all the advice guys. I did the deal anyway. Hopefully I will be deep enough. I also believe that I will probably lose this deal in 3 years. Putting a lot of trust that guys like Newhook, Kaliyev, etc develop into capable top 6ers. My depth is questionable. I also still have an older goalie in Lehner at the moment.

vetoed as in too much or too little for Aho? if too little i disagree.

A young star in my league is worth a lot more than the three unproven guys going the other way. Not saying I agree or disagree. Just this deal would never happen in my league. Every league is different. I just found this interesting.

ya you're right, every league is different with different takes on players. .. this is why i don't like the veto system. its all subjective (unless its a real screw over job thats obvious).

i do understand the perceived allure of Aho, and it really depends on your take and circumstances. For my team as it stands, id have taken the three prospects, but to my competitor, not a chance.

I see where you might be coming from in a limited keeper that is posted in your signature. This value is normal in a full keeper. Plus the other GM is in full rebuild.
