Stützle offer

I was just offered Stützle for my Mercer and Askarov. I am extremely biased with goalies so this is tough for me. My gut says do it but my heart says pass. I think Askarov is a while out from taking the crease in Nashville but when he does, he should be great. Is the difference between Stützle and Mercer big enough to ensure I am not making a mistake accepting this offer?

Lets use Dobbers projections, they are a pretty good starting point I would suggest.

Stutzle: 97 Upside 73 3YP
Mercer: 75 Upside 55 3YP

Big enough difference for you? I'll just add that I feel Stutzle has a much better chance of hitting his upside than Mercer. He's that good IMO.

Askarov is indeed years out and the chances of him being that franchise goalie are 50/50 and likely less. I can't list the "franchise goalies" that came into the league and turned out to be average or worse. It's a long list. Further, you have Tarasov and Dostal in your minors and IMO either one of them could be as good as or better than Askarov when he finally shows up. Hell, so could your other prospect goalies.

I would strongly suggest you accept this deal fast.

Askarov is a great prospect. But this is an 8 team league so it's not like his value will be crazy like in some leagues....

i think you have to make this deal..it will be likely the last chances to own him for this price tag.

I did the deal. He actually threw a 2023 4th round pick my way too. Thanks for the input everyone!
