Deadline deal to get lafreniere?

I give: Lundell, Mercer, Ty smith

I get: lafreniere and gavrikov

This is a salary cap league with 24 teams.
Stats: g, a, PIM, sog, gag, stp, hits, blks, fow, toish, tks (defense)

I am a middle of the road playoff team and need help with the banger stats. Also very tight on cap and I can just squeeze this in for this season.

I have been trying to get lafreniere but he just came back with this offer where clearly wasn’t going to move Mercer or Lundell. I feel like this is a no for me but want to throw it out there to see thoughts as deadline is in a few hours.

I like laf but also not a fan of him in the rangers system (I owned buch for years and has given me headaches lol)

Big no. Lundell looks great. Mercer solid as a 20yo. Laf slow progression... would much rather have both of those guys instead and Smith of course.

You'd be paying for hype. But the Lafrenière hype is now gone.
To me, Lundell is already proving to be more valuable than Lafrenière even if there is still time for him to reach his potential.
You should be the one receiving multiple pieces of value.

I think people are selling Lafreniere way short here. I'm not saying to do this deal but the amount of people who are giving up on Lafreniere already are extremely narrow sighted.

I'm not here to say accept the deal. But I believe Lafrenière will eventually prove people wrong. He's playing with plugs most of the time, barely sees any PP and when it happens it's with shitty players.

Btw Rangers has such a big gap talent wise between wave 1 and 2 on the PP.

Laf has 7 points in his last 6 games. It might be the time to get him. He looked good and you can see the confidence starting to kick in. Watch his last goal from yersterday's game, you'll know what I mean.

I'm not high on Mercer, I like him but I think he's at the right place at the right moment. He's lucky to play with Hughes.

I'm also not sold on Ty Smith especially with Hamilton and Severson ahead of him. I also believe Luke Hughes will bump him in a year or two.

I would try to negociate something like Mercer + Ty Smith + X for Laf without including Lundell

If that's the case, then we need to account for the cost of having to wait for a full-fledged Lafreniere.

Thanks all deadline passed and yeah I didn’t accept. All good points here and I do agree that laf will show us why he was 1st overall. The sad part of course is smith gets benched yesterday and Lundell is still not back yet. Was heading into the playoffs and also figured those three would payoff better. And yes laf is on a scoring streak.

Long term hard to tell and it will be interesting to see… maybe a deal can come together in the offseason so let’s see ��

I think a team treats their #1 overall pick a bit differently than their #75 overall pick. Its Laf's 2nd year in the league. You guys are way too impatient.

I agree with this- I'd take it. I traded Suzuki and j Anderson (at the start of the year as r when he had 30 goal hype!). Not an easy accept but a deal I would make...
