I'd put all three on the block and see what you can get.
In our 1-year league no keepers, I picked Eichel in the middle of season to my empty IR slot and he started to pay dividends.
But I have 3 pure centers ( Crosby Eichel Scheifele ) so 1 needs to go, because we have only 2 center slots.
My centers will overlap tomorrow once, then 3 times next week (W20), then once per other 2 weeks (W21,W22).
After that zero times overlap in W23 and in playoff Week 1 (Vegas have only 2 games), 1 time overlap in playoff Week 2.
Playoff final doubleweek they will overlap 2 times. Together 9 mangames lost. 5 mangames after next week. Is it too much or fine?
Trade arguments for each of them:
- Crosby - Penguins have very hard opponents ROS and only 12 matches in playoffs (last 3 weeks). But I get that he will still score a lot from PP and empty net so I am not decided 100% for trade.
- Eichel - Vegas has very easy opponents ROS but only 11 matches in playoffs - I cannot bring him there. He has some name value, even he just started to produce. Vegas is losing a lot from the day he joined them, but weak opponents are coming. If my centers werent overlapped a lot, I will keep him until playoffs, then trade him 1 week before.
- Scheifele - If he was a straight drop, this thread does not exist. But I see him too valuable for a drop, for me he is more a sweetener in 2 for 1 or 2 for 2 package. He is not suitable for 1 for 1 trade, because he and Winnipeg arent exactly rolling now
Trading a center is hard:
- almost every other GM has 2 pure centers, and they dont want to have 3
- there are a lot of good pure centers available as FA: Hischier, Couture, Johansen, Getzlaf
If somebody here thinks Scheifele is a drop, we have these Free agents in our league as of now: Hischier, Couture, Johansen, Duclair, Bunting, Coleman, Cirelli, Atkinson, Raymond, Suzuki, Caufield.
Should I try to trade Crosby or Eichel instead and keep Scheifele for fantasy playoffs because Winnipeg have a very good schedule with odd days ?
If yes, is it Eichel the guy to be traded, because Vegas has only 11 playoff matches? Or Crosby?
Some trade offers in my mind with some notes:
(avg current season rank and position in parenthesis, My players ranks are: Crosby[22],Eichel[114],Scheifele[177] )
- Crosby <> Svechnikov[28,LW/RW] - this GM has only 1 C (Kutznecov), I think I cant offer Eichel here, he has 4 LW/RW players (Kreider, Mangiapane, M.Foligno)
- Crosby <> Ekblad[29,D] - same GM as above, he was top3 in our league, but recently fell to 9th bubble place because he had no time to pick FA and trade with us.
- Eichel <> P.Kane[103,RW] - same GM as above, Chicago have a very good playoff schedule!
- Crosby <> Ovechkin[14,LW] - this GM leads our fantasy from early weeks and he has 3 decent centers (Aho, Pettersson, Kopitar)
- Crosby <> Marchand[9,LW] - GM at place 5, he have 2 centers (Bergeron, Dubois), but I can try an offer. Boston good playoff schedule by gamecount but hard opponents.
- Crosby <> Landeskog[7,C/LW] - same GM as above, Colorado has harder opponents ROS
- Eichel <> Laine[69,LW/RW] - same GM as above, Columbus ok schedule
- Crosby <> Josi[13,D] - this GM is dead last (our commisioner ) he has no time for this, he is a hockey trainer Nashville has good playoff schedule. He has 3 centers but only 1 real (MacKinnon, Horvat, Barzal[Out])
- Crosby <> J.T.Miller[16,C/LW] - top3 GM, has only 1 center (Matthews), but Vancouver have very bad schedule, so I probably should ignore this.
- Eichel <> B.Tkachuk[46] - same GM as above. Crosby is too much I think, I need to add sweetener to Eichel, Ottawa very good schedule and very easy opponents.
- Crosby <> Pastrnak[41,RW] - this GM is a new this year and almost traded Pastrnak for my Rust, but Rust got COVID just that day He is reluctant to make trades in general, only 1 trade this season. He is 10/12 and little nervous to miss playoffs. He has 2 centers (Barkov, O'Reilly).
- Eichel <> Teravainen[72,LW/RW] - this GM likes trading a lot, he is 8/12. Have only 1 Center (McDavid).
- Crosby <> Stamkos[27,C/RW] - same GM as above. He likes Stammer a lot. :-/ Tampa has a good playoffs schedule.
- Eichel <> Meier[18,LW/RW] -same GM as above. I see a decline for Meier. Good fantasy playoff schedule.
- Crosby <> Gaudreau[23, LW/RW] - GM 10/12, fighting for playoffs. Calgary very good schedule ROS and playoffs! I have Lindholm and Andersson already.
- Crosby <> Tarasenko[76,RW] same GM as above. I think I will offer Eichel 1st, but I smell a decline. Maybe then Eichel with sweetener and Crosby pass?
- Crosby <> Pacioretty[26,LW] - same GM as above. Pacioretty is injured. This is higher risk and also Vegas not good playoff schedule.
I can add some sweeteners aswell: Husso - Binnington is fighting back for his #1 spot, Krug - fades away, Hall or one of my Ds.
Any comments/advices please?
Which trade offers you like most? Numbers or target names pls.

"Cleavage is like the sun. You can look, but dont stare.. Unless you're wearing sunglasses."
Unfortunately, this is not a good approach in our league.
If I put them on block or make public announcement:
- majority of other GM starts making fun of me.
- other GM interested will be afraid to make an offer. Because after deal, they start to make fun of him instead
But I get your point and I started to privately contact target GMs if they are interested in this. I will post the replies here.
In this approach I should have my trade offers ranked before. Because many GMs will reply: Send me an official trade offer. So I need to know, which offers to send first. That for 1 of the reasons to post this thread.
Until then, I would be glad to hear your opinions which 2 centers I should carry to playoffs and who is the odd man out. Or keep them all?
9 overlaps in 8.5 weeks isn't that bad. Plus their playoff schedules are actually pretty decent. Basically everyone plays the final day of the year anyway so that one really doesn't count.
I would dangle Scheifele out there but would be ok keeping them.
I wrote draft of this thread because I assumed they will overlap more and that's a huge problem.
Then I realised it's only 9 overlaps from today to ROS. I didnt want to delete all the insights I put there (took me over a hour to wrote), so the thread was created. Maybe somebody find it useful too.
And after next bad week (W20) with 3 overlaps it wil be only 5 overlaps ROS (6.5 weeks) = less than 1 overlap per week.
This means I am not pushed to make some very unprofitable trade. I can wait and pick the best offer or even stand pat.
Of all those trades if you can get a Scheifle for Ekblad or Svechnikov done Both would be big upgrades for you. Maybe even Eichel in a one year. Crosby is probably too valuable to let go for any of those names this year.

1st offer is here: Nylander for either Eichel +D or Scheifele +D. Owner has also Landeskog, Marchand, Laine (whose I am more interested in).
And I need to add defender on top of that ( Pionk or other similar D like: Spurgeon, Andersson, Krug).
It will create a roster space for me, which is good, because I need to activate Ehlers. It's a good time to buy-low the Nylander, but is it a fair deal?
Toronto has good schedule ROS and playoffs, many games and easy opponents. But they are slumping now (together with Nylander). Will they turn around? Anyone?
Crosby is money. Keep him.
Scheifle - solid. Never been a big fan but the return of Ehlers may up his value a little - probably not a bad selling point to make.
Eichel - the sky is the limit. If you didn’t see him pull away for that breakaway goal last night go check it out. Dude is just getting back up to speed and is just so good. His size, speed, and skill would have made him a clear number one pick had he not been in the draft with McDavid - but that’s more of a keeper thought. The fact that they had to shuffle Stone to LTIR to bring Eichel on hurts Eichel a bit. And now Patches is in and out and that doesn’t help either.

*EDIT* I got another offer (Laine + for Scheifele +) - separeate thread to avoid confusion.
Last edited by GTX; March 6, 2022 at 1:48 PM. Reason: separate thread
The last offer (Scheifele for Laine) was denied by majority of dobbers, so I still need to figure this out. Our trade deadline is 23rd March 2022 (in 12 days).
The one of reasons to get rid of one my center was overlapping of games. Which is not a big issue now, this week was the worst and then it will be less than 1 mangame missed per week.
What is more concerning me is that Vegas is slumping heavily, Pacioretty is playing injured, Lehner, R.Smith, M.Stone, A.Martinez are out. and Vegas has only 11 games in our playoffs weeks (and only 2 games for 1st week which is crucial for advancing).
So, even if I agree, that Eichel is a special player, I need/want to trade him, because of reasons above.
I am targeting these players:
(all are point per game players and have 25 games left)
Hintz - 26 games left, easy opponents ROS, good playoff schedule, underperforming by the latest Goldipucks article.
EDIT: got rejected Robertson - as Hintz, but on roll now, not good timing to buy maybe
Tarasenko , easier opponents ROS, good playoff schedule
EDIT: got rejected Point - harder opponents ROS, good playoff schedule, owner had 3 other centers :-(
Buchnevich - easier opponents ROS, good playoff schedule, cold streak now, but now Out with possible concussion (goot buy low spot ?)
EDIT: got rejected A.Svechnikov - OK opponents ROS, OK playoffs schedule, cold streak now
Are all those players comparable (same tier) to Eichel in 1-year league? I am afraid to send requests in one time.
Any interesting targets I missed? Means they have good schedule ROS/playoffs and they should perform well.
I may add a goalie (I have Helle, Husso, Oettinger - cant decide which 2 to keep ) and go for higher targets?
Or add a sweetener with some decent Ds (Pionk, Krug, Andersson, Barrie). I would love to create a roster slot.
Any advice and suggestions are welcome.

thanks Joe. The 1st post was before this week (3 overlaps), week before 1 overlap, that's why 9 in total was mentioned.
Now the overlapping is no more a big problem, I have another 2 problems:
- Vegas playing poorly and have a lot of injuries
- Vegas has bad playoff schedule (only 11 games total and only 2 games 1st playoff week - quarterfinal).
I just got an offer: Hertl for my Eichel. I think I will pass that, even I am little frustrated. Pacioretty is injured again.
