NHL teams do not want their players out for any circumstances, save maybe the last 2 games of the season if the playoffs are sewn up. We have seen teams rest them, but in no way would I be naive to think that the opposite is reality. Players want to play, teams want to play them.

Did the situation work out favourably for Tampa? Yes.

Would they have preferred to have Kucherov play the entire season and not miss any games? Yes.

Again, we aren't talking about two games here, but well into the teens, by your argument. It's too convenient otherwise.

As has been said, the NHL cracks down on cap infractions very, very hard. Not to mention the Board of Governors would throw a fit larger than a border blockage or city occupation if this was true.

Sorry, conspiracy theories are not for me.

If you think Kucherov was unable to play (the CBA verbiage is “unable to perform his duties as a hockey player - whatever the hell that means) you’re an idiot. If you think the rule isn’t gray as hell you’re an idiot. Tampa did nothing illegal. But it was shady as ****. Just not enough to violate the rules. Good on them? Who cares really. It’s the way the owners want it.

Really. That's what we're resorting to.

The word shady is meaningless if it doesn't violate rules. If it did, or even remotely came close to, the league and its owners would never stand for it. Knowingly leaving that kind of competitive disadvantage out there suggests that no one in the NHL is paying attention... And nothing could be further from the truth.

It's only a competitive disadvantage if some teams are able to, and some aren't. All teams have this option at their disposal, whether they choose to use it or not is a whole other situation.

This is exactly my point and I think the teams want it that way. If they didn’t, it would not be so.

They don't have that option though unless they 'luck into it'. Can't just sit players on LTIR all season without reason.
Tampa was a cap stricken team without Kucherov that gained his services come playoff time. They weren't missing him, they gained him and a distinct advantage.

My post is honest and accurate. Not “resorting” to anything. If you’re going to make silly posts, expect to be called out.

This is the definition of an attempt to bully.

Grow up and stop calling people names. This is not what the Dobber forum community is about. That kind of stuff isn’t welcome here.

I seriously doubted he would play this season at all. We’ll see how this recovery plays out long term for him and I hope it goes well and man… the Sabres….

with vegas so banged up right now, they could really use mark stone if he were healthy. i think vegas ends up missing the playoffs in a tough season for them injury-wise. it aint easy making the palyoffs without your top guy.

The Knights are in good hands now that Eichel has returned. His leadership will provide the way.
