I believe, August 8th - 19th is the target. Full approval required by all teams which is expected after the Olympics."
Thread about the possible summer 2022 WJC tournament.
Reports are that they may do it in August. That is great for the players that can go but we may lose a few from the winter tourney who will be focused on the NHL at that time.
It sounds like they will decide the dates and venue some time in late Feb or March.

EDIT:
The 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship - which was cancelled in December - will return to Edmonton's Rogers Place from Aug. 9-20. The results from games played in December will not be carried over to this summer’s tournament and players born in 2002 or later will remain eligible to represent their respective countries.
Austria, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland and the United States will form Group A, with Canada, Czechia, Finland, Latvia and Slovakia competing in Group B.

I honestly have a tough time believe many teams will block their top prospects from going to this. August 8th to 19th is very early in training camp. I can't imagine players will get more value out of that early training camp time than they will out of this tournament.
I'm glad I snagged Kent Johnson as a minors keeper recently. Seems like he did well in the Olympics and I'm hoping he takes the next step this August. Anyone else you guys are really looking forward to seeing? Besides Bedard, haha.

Unless Michkov truly separates from Bedard by a tangible margin I can't see any team taking him and the 3 year wait over Bedard.
Byfield, Powers, Lafreniere, Drysdale, Jack Quinn, Mercer are all eligible for Team Canada. I have no idea if they would go (Might think they are past it) but that's a lot of game changers eligible for Canada.

Wow... not seeing Russia in there really dilutes the depth of the tournament.
Makes i seem like the top 4 teams will definitely be in the semi-finals now.
Less likelhood of the 3rd place team in Group B beating 2nd place team of Group A.

If its in August than it's not really the same tourny. Some top prospects will definitely be missing but it'll be good nontheless.
World juniots in August? Sure why not
Its coming up in a few weeks and so little hype. And a dark cloud over the tourney with Hockey Canada in turmoil, sponsors withdrawing and Russia banned.

I think it's mostly the odd time of year, in other parts of the world at least... Hockey Canada isn't making the news here from what I can tell (not that I follow the news all that much). Russia is its own thing, but them not being there does little for the coverage or lack thereof.

Yahoo Limited keeper: keep up to 8 players from the preceding season, but 2 of them has to be dropped at the end of the season, decided before the start. 'Keep eligible players' from draft round 11 and later, or undrafted.

Keepers 23/24 + cost of keeping. M Seider 2, B Tkachuk 5, D Batherson 4, D Cozens 1, W Johnston 1, F Gustavsson 1. Drafted and keep eligible: J Sanderson, T Harley, J Wallstedt
Do they plan on starting the '23 tourney around the same time as usual this year or did everything get bumped with the postponement of the '22 tourney?

Very little coverage but I am seeing on twitter a ton of top names choosing not to play in this tournament. A lot of guys like Slafkovsky, Nemec, Neighbours etc opting out. It's a growing list. Oof.
