Pettiness all around. But we separate the art from the artist, don't we?

Tom Brady says he's retiring "for good" this time.
    https://www.sportsnet.ca/nfl/article...ment-from-nfl/

He posted it on his instagram. He addressed last yrs retirement long winded announcement. I have a feeling he's done. I don't think he'd flip flop twice. He posted a bunch of pictures on his Insta Story which included some of teammates, parents, trainers, his trainer guy, his kids, and near the end he posted ones with Giselle and the kids.

Now the 10 year clock starts for avoiding the games he is calling and hoping there is other options on at all times!

Using the mute button has done wonders for me over the last 10 years with Collinsworth, so that's my only advice.

To note on a podcast last yr, he did say the next time he retires that's it.

And add a team to the growing list of teams that need a QB:
    Indy
    Houston
    Tampa
    Carolina
    Jets
    Raiders
    Washington
    NOS
    Atlanta
    Tennessee
    New England maybe
    Baltimore maybe
San Fran maybe (some reports now suggest Purdy needs TJS)
Miami maybe (Tua is still in concussion protocol)

I need Jagr to come back to the NHL.
With Brady retired, I'm older than everybody in the major US PRO sports.
    Ugh. I don't like that.

Actually are there ANY 1970s born players left at all in any pro sports?
I think Brady may have been the very last.

(Joe Thornton, officially, I think - is not retired... but he's done, yes?)

As much as I hate him, he is the GOAT. Happy retirement Tommy.

Yeah I imagine the retirement sticks this time. The message seemed more self aware and serious.

Talking about old players brings up one of my favorite miscellaneous stats.

The record for most receiving yards in the NFL after the age of 40 ALL-TIME is as follows:

    1. Jerry Rice 2,169 yards. [which is insane]
    2. Tom Brady 6 yards
    LAST. Brett Favre -2 yards
12 team H-2-H 1 year league, daily roster changes, 3 goalie start minimum/week
    2xC, 2xRW, 2xLW, 4xD, 3xUtil, 2xG, 5 Bench
G, A, P, PIM, PPP, SHP, GWG, SOG, Hits, W, SV%, GAA, SVs
    C: C. Keller, C. Mittelstadt, B. Nelson, R. Strome,
    LW: K. Connor, B. Tkachuk, J. Gaudreau, J. Marchessault, E. Rodrigues, A. Lafreniere
    RW: K. Fiala, J. Bratt, T. Jeannot V. Arvidsson
    D: R. Josi, J. Trouba, E. Gustafsson,
    G: L. Thompson, F. Gustavsson, V. Vanecek

It's wild. And there's only about 15 competent ones to begin with.

I guess that's why they're paid so much.....
