    Default Goalie Advice Please

    Hey Guys,

I'm wondering what the thoughts/opinions are on holding time share goalies on different teams vs. holding a tandem.

    Team 2 in sig.

    Obviously Vasi is a mainstay.

    I have Rask and Holtby

Both of the WAS goalies are available.

Or I could drop Rask and Pick up Oettinger

Would I be better sticking with what I got - rotate through one of the G spots if I need starts? Or should I secure one of the tandems?

Going with both WAS goalies guarantees you all of their starts, obviously. And that's a good team that seems to be firing on all cylinders. Holtby and DAL have both been up and down, and Oettinger is getting more starts these days. Rask has had some good starts and dropped one turd, but that was to CAR so it's tough to know which way that will go. Honestly it's a crap shoot unless you have minimum starts each week and really need the handcuff from one team. If not, I'd probably stick with what you have. If you need the starts, deciding between dropping Rask for Oettinger or revamping your whole goalie corps for the WAS guys will be a tough choice.

    Thanks for the advice.

I do have minimum starts - 3 - however Vasi usually gets me at least 2.

I have actually dropped Holtby for Samsonov - strictly for the better team - but still leaves me in the same situation.

I like your situation better now

that said Vanecek may be the one to get the bulk of starts so something to keep an eye on

I think Rask gets at least half the starts and is behind a good defense/team. he often takes a little while to get going, too, so by playoffs he could very well be in prime form and getting the bulk of starts.

unless you feel as though you aren't getting enough starts per week (usually shows if you're getting pummeled in the W category) I think you're good without the WAS handcuff.
