Value of Samsonov
First league in signature. What are we thinking about Samsonov rest of season? He was dropped a couple days ago so he comes off waivers tomorrow. I know Washington has been good, but neither goalie has impressed so far. I currently have 5th waiver spot (there's a few claims throughout the season, but I'll probably remain near the bottom of the order for the rest of the year if I use it).
Currently have Lehner and Talbot (IR) so I also have a few goalies I've streamed in for this week. Usually I like running 2 goalies and then using some of my 4 adds to stream in a couple more (because saves is a category). Is Samsonov worth the pickup to run with 3 goalies for now to either keep ROS or possibly as a nice trade piece going into the trade deadline? If he is worth the pickup, is he worth burning my waiver spot?

It wasn't too long ago guys were falling all over themselves trying to acquire Samsonov. So it goes with goalies. However, Samsonov is a Tier 2 goalie, currently ranked around 20th in the league and I think he can be better. He's only 24 and he has had his struggles but the talent is there IMO. There is risk here but as finny said, you are paying a pretty low price to acquire a goalie of Samsonov's quality, I think it well worth the risk.
