    Hey Guys
looking to shake up things, sitting last and looking to rebuild a bit.
Been a challenging year , and having lots of offers on my Marchand.

    last offer from a GM was O’Reilly + 1st 2023+ 1st 2024

But I want to respond with a

    Marchand
    Weegar
    4th 2023
    4th 2024

    for his

    Verhaeghe
    Seider
    1st 2023
    1st 2024

is the ask too much ? not enough ?

what is thoughts on both those guys … 2 year outlook?

any insight on this trade , or where to improve my team with offers rolling in and what to reach for would be appreciated!

    cheers

When you’re trading a high profile player like Marchand it’s best to test the market and explore all possibilities. Ask yourself is this the best possible offer If it is then it is then consider it. I feel like you can get more but circle back if required.

In a league with only 6 keepers and no "minors" where you can stash young players for free, plus where not even 200 players are owned league-wide, I do not like the idea of stockpiling picks as you'll either have to carry them in valuable keeper spots or just let them go. Marchand is a valuable asset who should net you something impactful in the form of a young player who has a high floor and could even get better over time. I'd try to do the deal for Seider, one pick, and a guy like Guentzel or Aho.

Two year outlook? Keep Marchand unless you're getting something impressive in return. I also don't think you need to add the picks from your side but that's me. I think you're giving up too much just to try and get younger. Those types of trades usually end up with the person giving away the older player on the losing end of the trade for a while.

In two years I would expect both Marchand and Weegar to be putting up the kind of numbers they are putting up this year. In two years I expect Verhaeghe will be putting up the kind of numbers he is this year and Seider will likely improve but by how much is unknown. This is not close. As others have said, the draft picks are not going to do a whole lot for you any time soon in your format. I think you really need to go back to the drawing board and try and get much better value for the players you want to move.

So since the other GM does have Aho

would it be more in line for value …

    Aho,
    Seider
    + 1st 2023

    For

    Marchand
    Weegar
    + 4th 2023

I do really like Seider’s potential and room for development and a Detroit team that is moving in a great direction.
Aho is a stud, and I do like the idea of Grabbing an extra 1st in the Bedard draft year as incentive to snag him.

Personally I like Weegar over Seider but that’s just me. You’re selling Marchand short with Verhaeghe coming back in return.
Definitely Aho or Guentzel instead of Verhaeghe.
I have had Marchand as a keeper (Keep 6) for the last couple seasons. Not for lack of trying to trade him, just because I don’t like his on ice antics. I can’t get decent value in return because he’s 30+. So I keep him and enjoy the 100+ pt pace he puts up yearly.
I understand you’re high on Seider and covet the top picks. Try to get decent value for Marchand. If you sell a Marchand type short you will be rebuilding continually.

I hate this deal for you.

The 1st rounders are useful future trade chips to get a star player like a Marchand. Points only is not great for Weegar, but somehow he's a 50 point D without much PP time; literally nobody saw this coming, even those of us who saw him as a 30-40 point D. Honestly, Weegar might be a keeper for you.

Your issues are primarily keepers. You're keeping 6 F in a keep 6 league where you start 6 F weekly, and they aren't all great.
