DeAngelo for Byram
With his latest injury I’ve softly floated Byram’s name out there just to see what kind of offers I could get. So far the best one is DeAngelo straight up. Scoring is:
Goals-5 (7.5 for Dmen)
Assists -5 (7.5 for dmen)
Blocks- .5
PIMS- .25
Power play points- 2.5
Short handed points - 5
Hits - .5
And other bonus points for stuff like shootout goals, hat tricks, etc.
It’s a 12 team deep dynasty league with 25 players and a 20 man minors system. The other defensemen (we start 6) are:

Uh. If it’s unlikely you can win this year, there’s no way I’m trading away Byram for DeAngelo. Byram has way more upside, DeAngelo is one wrong move from being out of the league

I'd accept but then try to flip DeAngelo for a similar asset ASAP to avoid the risk rataylor22 correctly identifies. Byram's repeated concussions frighten me.

On the whole concussion thing, would just point out that Byram is having recurring concussion symptoms, but not continually suffering concussions. It's still worrying, but also different.

I still want no part of Deangelo on any of my fantasy teams or my favorite NHL team. I would prefer Byram on my team than Deangelo even if Byram never plays another NHL game.

Even if Byram recovers (and we all hope he does), he would put up a pace similar to what DeAngelo is doing now. Who know how long DeAngelo can go before he implodes, but his issue is mental not physical. I'd do the deal, and then try to use DeAngelo for trade bait elsewhere, maybe at the end of season.

He hasn’t accepted the trade yet, as it was agreed to over text but he’s been busy all day and said he hasn’t had time to respond to the actual transaction once I sent it through fantrax. Whether he’s actually busy or having second thoughts….idk but if it does go through I will probably look to doing what some of you are saying and seeing if I can flip TDA in the summer.
