Going to run with an empty slot for a little bit, I have chychrun coming off IR and I want a slot for him if he gets traded as I am behind in defence games played. We have a game cap on every position, so effectively Debrincat will be replaced with streaming Hall/Fiala/zuccarello in his slot as they have been sitting on my bench

Quick math tells me Debrincat & Fox are probably within 10pts of each other, and the gap between your forwards that you plan on streaming over Nurse should be larger than that. Going into next season with the 2 best young fantasy D men is a huge leg up on the competition. I'd make the trade.

This is a fair price to pay to acquire Fox. The streaming option should take the sting out of losing The Cat and Chychrun replaces Nurse. I like it.

In an 8 team with limited keepers I want the best players overall. I like Hughes, but if the price to pay for upgrading to Fox is Nurse than I'm sticking with that trade. You wouldn't have the roster spot to move Chychrun to your active roster unless you dropped one of your forwards you planned to stream if you made the 1:1 for Hughes either.

You are right, I am just torn as I am currently in first but in a pretty good two way battle and Nurse helps this year as the bottom of my Defence has been my weakness. Chychrun is also high risk as he has been brutal in our league (+/- is a killer for him) so it could buy me time having to play him until he hopefully gets traded.
All that being said, your point is well taken that the improvement to Fox is worth Nurse added in a vaccuum, just trying to balance this year and next as I have unloaded a tonne of draft picks to make a push. Really appreciate the thoughtful responses

You know who helps your D core this year more than Nurse? Fox. This deal isn't about helping with your backend depth, it's instantly upgrading the front end of it. If you want to help with the depth, the move would to be cut Chychrun for someone who gives you value now vs the hope that he gets traded.Originally Posted by Sidenown

Bump! Fox was a no go, and Debrincat for Hughes feels like a sideways move.

I like Ekblad, and would move Debrincat for him. Add something less than Nurse (Chycrun?) and see where that ends up.
