    Default Kadri and Giroux

Both players are having a resurgence this season. It is, however, the last year of their contract and most likely will play on different teams next year. What can we expect from them in the next couple years? Is it a good time to sell high?

I will make the playoffs this year but my chances of winning it all are slim. I've been in a win now mode the past few years and traded all my picks/prospects for upgrades (then covid hit...). My gut feeling though is that it is time to start a retool of some sort. Kadri and Giroux would be ideal candidates to flip for replenishing the cupboards, with other guys that still have name value like Krug, Couture, Wilson.

What do your crystal balls say about these soon-to-be free agents?

There's a good chance Giroux resigns in Philly, but at a slightly lower cost. However, I'd expect Fletcher to let him walk, as he predates Fletcher, and is an older player. He'll be more or less a fine player wherever he goes, and while he may not be quite this good again next year, it's possible.

Kadri is having his career year right now. While there's a chance he stays in Colorado, I think he's doing well enough to get a crazy large contract, and he may go that route.

Trading both is fine, depending on the return. I trust Giroux a lot more than Kadri to have a similar future season o this current one.

Simply put, the strategy you are considering is solid. Now is the time to move these players. As stevegamer has already said it's all about the return you can negotiate.
