    Hey

Anyone else fan of F1 and watch all or most races?
Didn't see a thread dedicated to this great sport, and figured it would be a good addition to the forum.

Last season was fantastic, and because of that I can't wait to watch drive to survive this spring!

Having the title decided in the last lap of the season under questionable decisions and circumstances, I was thrilled my driver Max came out on top!

Who's your driver/team and what do you like about the sport?

I watched all of the F1 races this past year, thanks to my trusty PVR.

Last season was indeed fantastic, although I liked Verstappen winning the championship, I didn't like all the controversy surrounding the finish of the final race. Don't get me wrong, I wanted Max to win it and I detest Hamilton and the Mercedes team (especially Toto Wolff), but while the finish was exciting, it was too controversial for me.

I hope more teams are truly competitive. Having only 2 teams that have realistic chances to win is not exciting for fans. Sure there are a couple of teams that "can" win, but essentially only if Mercedes and Red Bull crash or have mechanical issues.

Glad you started this thread and hope to make some comments when the season starts back up again.

Does this mean I have to watch the Netflix series? I've heard great things...

The Netflix series is excellent and brought me in this year. I don't watch most races as they end too early in the morning, but my wife and I both like to keep up with what is generally happening and made a point to see the Western Hemisphere races, and the final one. The Netflix series makes it a lot easier to find yourself rooting for a particular driver or team as you get to know them. Put me in the tier of Netflix newcomers who probably anticipate the Netflix series more than the actual races themselves.

If it wasn't for the Netflix series, I wouldn't pay attention to F1 but that series hooked me. I cheer for Verstappen but mainly because he uses 33 and that's my favorite number. I tend to look who uses that number and tag along.

That's how I watch it too. PVR the race, and then not have my phone on until I watch it on Sundays.
I don't watch the practice or quali's usually though.

I hope teams will be more competitive as well. McLaren and Aston Martin and Ferrari should be better than they have been. But with the new car design and bigger tires it will be interesting to see how it plays out.

I'm with you on the hate Lewis front. I can't stand that fake activist. Always crying on the board radio too when he doesn't start from pole and it isn't an easy cruise to the finish lol.

You don't have to, but the series is defnitely enjoyable and a good intro to the sport if you never watched or followed it.

All I know is if you invested in F1 sportscards before the pandemic, you're loving life right now. Prices for sought after cards are bananas.

yeah I agree, more parity would make for a fantastic season.

Sidenote, I do like the look of the new units with the 18 inch tires.

    Just finished Drive to Survive.

Thought it was underwhelming this season despite the season being the most exciting in years.

They wasted at least 3 episodes on boring stories like Ocon, Russel, and Mazepin.

Also with the way the season ended, they should have put more focus there. Maybe even another episode to really get the most out of that.

In any event, it is a good lead up to this weekends first race!

Im very excited to see Haas being fairly quick so far! Ferrari looks like theyre back too.

If we can have 4 or so teams competing for the title it will be a great season.
