League in signature. My Hertl and Q. Hughes for OGM's Zibanejad and Barrie. This trade was sent via text (so I can't hit accept), but I am intrigued. I don't really place much value on Barrie, and could drop him for another option on the waiver wire (lots of options for HIT/BLK available). However, Zibanejad is tempting and typically plays much stronger in the second half of the season. I am currently first in the league, so while the future is important, I am generally looking for deals that make my team better this year. Thoughts?

Yeah I'd keep Hughes for that offer. Your forwards are really good so Zib isn't as valuable to your forward group as much as Hughes is needed for your D.

Appreciate the feedback. The OGM also has Guentzel, who I'm a big fan of, and is a great fit for our league. Would Guentzel instead of Zib make any difference?

I agree with this; you appear to be giving up an area of weakness for an area of strength. Hard to imagine there is something on the wire to swing this your way, but if I had a nickel for everything I've been wrong about, I'd be richer than Bezos...Originally Posted by This Guy

In terms of waiver wire, our league categories make it interesting. There is no option on waivers that would replace the value of Hughes/Chabot long term. But in the short term, there are currently 5 D available who are ranked from 100-150 in our league (Hakanpaa, and the like), who can stuff the PIM/HIT/BLK categories, which is not bad for a league that rosters almost 300 players. Our rosters are also very top heavy, with 9 active F slots and only 4 D slots (compared to Yahoo's traditional 6F and 4D).
Forwards are generally harder to come by in our setup.
