    In a H2H format, they're pretty even.

Chabot for goals, PIMs, hits and blocks
Hughes for assists, PPP and +/-.

What does your team need more?
10 Team, Points Only, Cash League

25 Man Roster (no position), top 20 point getters count at end of month
Keep 20/25 at seasons end, Cut 5 to FA for redrafting
    Goalie points W=2pt L=-1pt SHO=2pt

Stamkos, Tavares, Eichel, Mercer, JRobertson, RThomas, Kucherov, Nugent-Hopkins, Tuch, KConnor, Necas, Point, Konecny, SJarvis, Cozenz, Morrissey, Bouchard, Josi, Novak, Tolvanen, Peterka, Brink

I need more "grit" in my keeper group. But while Chabot is stronger in the peripheral categories, he doesn't really address that issue. I need to make other moves to address that.

But in general, I'm doing some longterm planning, and trying to figure out where my guys fit in the pecking order. And I'm sort of stuck on how to rank these two. So I figured I would throw it out to the forum and see what the rest of you think. In case I'm missing something.

I think that longer-term I prefer Chabot to Hughes, generally.

I note that you have 16 bodled guys and 15 keeper spots, so I am guessing that's the planning.

That's part of my planning. I also have had a couple trade offers involving one or the other of the two D. I'm trying to decide who has the most value to keep, but also who potentially has the most trade value (whether real or perceived).

Quinn Hughes "should " have more value based on name only but comparing them H2H, Chabot offers just as many category wins compared to Hughes.

If you haven't, I suggest reading my last Goldipucks column, where one of the three skaters I covered was Chabot: https://dobberhockey.com/2022/01/12/...-gostisbehere/

Cliff notes - Chabot's deployment is the best any defenseman has had in ages, and no one is threatening it. And Ottawa is a team on the rise. Down the road he could be a John Carlson type. Hughes should be a potent offensive d-man, but is best suited to points only.

Given that I see your planning, I think Hughes will net you more, and be of similar value.

Well, Hughes just netted me Patrick Kane. He's had a slow first half, and there are some question marks in Chicago, but underlying stats indicate he's due for a rebound. Gearing up for the stretch run!
