For today's Gordle, definitely put me in category #1 as defined by the info bit afterwards. I was only able to get it on try 6 because I had 4 of the letters in place going into the last guess and none of the other letters available made a player's name.

I use a different word every day also (well, most every day anyway), and I actually got the word correct on the first guess three times in the first 50 times I played the game!

I've now played over 100 times and haven't gotten it right again on my first guess. It was complete luck and truly remarkable (statistically) to have gotten it correct once let alone three times.

I know the first words I use aren't usually helpful in terms of getting a head-start on solving the puzzle (testament to the fact I have failed 7 times to solve the puzzle and it usually takes me 4 or 5 guesses), but I like the gamble of maybe hitting the jackpot again and immediately solving the puzzle with my first guess.

When your first two guesses do not result in a single letter and your 3 guess gives you 1 letter not in order, you know it's a tough word. Got it in 5.

That was a tough one. I got it to _LU__ in 5 guesses, no yellow letters. Took me an hour or two to think of any word that would fit.

it was a tough word but I luckily got it in 4...

first guess: nothing
second guess: nothing
third guess: got the 'U'

At this point I had no vowels left to try and most of commonly-used letters were gone, so I guessed correctly with my 4th try.

So, I missed one day last August while I was camping in an area with no service, and have used Giroux every day since July. Has it still never been him, or did I miss him on that one day?

Has Malkin ever been used? I've used Malkin most every day and never been right.

Malkin came up before mid-August when I started using Giroux. He was my opener until his name was the one and then I flipped to Giroux.
