Is he actually going to get vaxxed or will he be doing the Bertuzzi Shuffle, missing all Canadian games and swaths of others on a regular basis? His value is dependent on compliance. Missing 20 percent of the games means the ceiling is 20 percent lower.

It seems weird to me that EDM brings in this guy who will destroy their fragile culture but the obvious weakness is in net and there is no action at that spot for years now.

Hearing Evander Kane's 1-year deal w/ #Oilers would earn him ~$1 million in cash for remainder of season.
Because deal begins halfway thru season, expect Kane's cap hit would be roughly double that.

You're making assumptions you don't know anything about, just what you think is happening or might happen. You have no idea how Kane will make out behind those dressing room doors. Clearly, Holland has already talked to his senior leaders on the team about bringing him in and clearly the answer was, yes, get him if you can.
Also, you don't know what Holland has been trying to do regarding the goaltending situation. Holland pushed hard for Markstrom and missed. He was hard on Kuemper and missed. Sometimes there's deals to be made and sometimes there isn't. Maybe Holland isn't willing to overpay for a goalie and the asking prices are ridiculous. To say there's been no action is flat out incorrect. There's been action, just no results.
All you're doing is saying things you think you know about, but really, you don't know what is going on behind the scenes.

It's a risk/reward scenario. Edmonton is struggling to also score goals and acquiring Kane would help with that. Obviously Kane's personality could be a problem, but for literally just $1mil, why wouldn't Holland add him to a team struggling to score goals? Holland can add Kane and still try upgrading the team's goalie.

Past performance is the key predictor of future results.
Kane has been run out of town by a few teams now and has yet to have what anyone could call a successful tenure with any NHL team he has signed with.
Why should any of that change now? Especially given he has had no accountability other than losing paychecks that go to his creditors anyway.
I dont need to know whats behind the scenes because right up front here we have a huge pile of data that proves beyond argument that Kane is a douchebag and a shit head who cant manage his life well enough to avoid being a massive black hole of negativity that consumes the dressing room.
