EF said Carolina seems to be the front runner for Klingberg during the 32 thoughts podcast (I heard it on the YouTube channel Top Shelf Hockey). Canes don't have their 2022 1st round pick because of the KK signing. Carolina's RH D are Pesce, Bear, DeAngelo and Cole (can play both). So I would assume a D would likely going back to the Stars because they are loaded back there, so maybe Bear is involved.

Blues, Islanders, Kings, Ducks are all also rumoured.

Bear's been a healthy scratch lately, so he could very well be part of any deal.

Doesn't make sense for Carolina to make a move unless they don't plan on resigning DeAngelo. You already have the younger, cheaper version of Klingberg.

Carolina makes no sense to me. Just because a player is available doesn’t mean you trade for him. They do not need this player and will regret this move if they make it.

I agree. I also don't know that they would have the right package for Dallas, or they'd be giving up a 2023 1st round pick, or maybe even KK involved in the trade. I don't really get the move. I don't even know why they would need to make a big move this yr, their team is so solid.

At any rate, wherever Klinger ends up he is certainly doing himself no favours with his play. It may be one of his worst seasons since entering the league,... in his biggest contract year.

    Ouch.

Dallas is Frankenstein’s (it’s pronounced Franken-shteen!!) monster right now. They have no identity, no system, are a mix of parts that don’t mesh, and the coach appears to be part of the problem. They’ve lowered the value of every player on the team.

Yet they are 1 week of winning from being in the playoffs.

Which makes it all the more frustrating. This team should be a contender. They need a coach.

For whatever it’s worth, Dallas is much further than “a week of winning” away from a wild card spot.
