I'm ready to see Wright and Bedard but I know for a 16yr old facing off against potential 20yr olds...I'm just expecting a highlight, and not domination.

*comes back from his slumber*
If anyone wants to make my life easier and make suggestions for captains for the 2022 pool (see https://forums.dobbersports.com/show...obber-WJC-Pool for last year's edition and what I'm talking about), let me know.
I've had a rough few work days and tomorrow won't be different, so I'll take it easy and recover and then get into the swing of things for this year's pool (which unless I feel shittier for longer than I expect to be, is still the plan!). Looking to set that up and post the entry form around December 20th-21st-22nd.
UHL - Detroit Red Wings
24 team H2H (W-:L) Dynasty - 3C/LW/RW/F, 6D, 1G.
G/A/(+/-)/PIM/SOG/PPP/SHP/GWG/HIT/BLK/FOW
W/GAA/SV/SV%/SHO
NHL Cap + 1M salary cap (AAV)
Looking forward to the pool as always.
As for the captains, here's what I think...
D captains
Owen Power
Topic Niemela
Simon Edvinsson
Shakir Mukhamadullin
Jake Sanderson
Luke Hughes
F captains
William Eklund
Matty Beniers
Mason McTavish
Cole Perfetti
Kent Johnson
Dylan Guenther
I think the D captains are pretty clear. The forwards are tricky, as I don't see anyone from Russia or Finland who would be slam dunks this year - their top forwards are 2022 or 2023 draftees in a tournament generally dominated by the older players. Only one star from both USA and Sweden, which leaves Canada's big four forwards. Not sure all 4 have to be captains (we can always go with just 2 Canadians and leave it at 4 captains). I think Perfetti has to be one of them. The issue with not having all four as captains is that just about all teams will pick those guys if they aren't.
Going with these F and D captains I believe should create nice discrepancies between teams. I don't see anyone who is a slam dunk to be picked other than these 12 players.

My guess is that Kaiden Guhle is the Team Canada Captain (not sure if that's relevant to the above)

Is Holtz gonna be playing for Sweden or is he gonna be in NJ? Haven't been following the NHL enough (other than my fantasy teams)! Makes quite a huge difference for Sweden. With him, they're an absolute powerhouse that can rival Canada. Without they're a very distant 2-3 best in the tourney.

Wow. This makes Sweden stacked. They could legimitately have the top two forwards, top defenceman and top goalie in the tournament. Not saying that will happen or that their depth comes close to Canada's, but this, at least on paper, puts them miles ahead of the other teams. My gut still tells me Russia will beat them in the semis but on paper Sweden is much better.
