oh man great thread
having been a huge reader of the books, I was super pumped in 2001 to watch the movie
saw it on 42nd Street in Manhattan the opening night with some close buddies, also avid LOTR fans, having had a giant burger at (now closed, sigh…) McHale’s on 8th Avenue. It was so awesome, that opening sequence with Galadriel narrating the story. Still get goosebumps.

Having a newborn at home, my wife keeps referencing our kid having his second breakfast of the day. She has no idea how much this resonates with LOTR
