He wants Jarry for Barkov. Should I do it?

An owner is desperate for goalie help. I have Jarry, Vas and Saros so I'd probably be ok without Jarry. I could grab a good backup like Raanta or go for Elliott as a handcuff for Vas. But with four scoring cats being goalie cats, I can't mess this up. Is Barkov enough? Others on his roster are Rantanen, M. Tkachuck, Lindholm, Huberdeau, Josi, Rielly, Terry. His goalies are Oettinger, Binnington, Demko and Husso. I could ask for one of them if I clear a roster spot by dropping one of my F's, which I guess I will need to do anyway. But dang, I don't have a F that I would like to part with, and I am only rostering 3 D's right now. We need 4 weekly goalie starts and I *might* get that from Vas and Saros without adding another goalie, but I hate to cut it that close. Advice appreciated! Will rep for sure!

I think it's a good offer but I don't believe it's a good offer for you. Assuming you're winning right now I don't think the addition of Barkov is better than the subtraction of Jarry.

If you can work Demko in then I might go for it. But 1 for 1 is risky. I'd send Jarry and your worst forward for Barkov (stud)/Demko (no slouch). If Vancouver can tighten up on D this could be a big win for you, depending on who else you send back. But I don't like rolling with 2 goalies unless there's ample goalies on the waiver wire just incase. You'd have to see how it would affect your scoring but maybe Trocheck/Jarry for Barkov/Demko???? Don't want too many players of the same position.

Great advice, guys. Yeah, I need a goalie coming back for sure. So I could package my worst F for Barkov and Demko. Unless maybe I should ask for one of Rantanen, M. Tkachuck, Lindholm, Huberdeau instead, but if he's willing to part with Barkov that shouild be enough. But who to send to him? Larkin, Bunting, Robertson or Dubois? They're all good. And it needs to be a LW or C because I'm stocked there. I'm in second place in my league and killing the G cats, which are 4/10 of our scoring each week. So I really don't need to make a move and I sure don't want to make a bad one! But I have come up short on skater cats from time to time. I don't have the McJesus, Dri, MacK, Hubs, Aho, OV, etc. super-pointer on my team. Just a bunch of solid guys. Barkov could help, but I don't want to go crazy here.

Barkov is one of the best point producers out there. Barkov is not a “could help” he is a superstar. If your goaltending is solid and volume is not important then go for the package deal - offer PLD, Bunting, or Larkin - in that order for me.

Thanks Tweetdrivr. I am negotiating with him as per your suggestion. Barkov + Demko for Jarry + PLD. Larkin and Bunting were FA pickups for me so I suppose I could let one of them go instead if he balks at PLD.

I would prefer Barkov for Jarry over Barkov+Demko for Jarry+PLD..

I would have no issue rolling with Raanta if you feel you need more G help.

Yeah, but I'd have to drop a F to get a spot for another G. That's my big issue. I have too much value on my bench. I could grab Raanta but I'd have to drop PLD or Larkin or Bunting to do it. And my IR is already full. Unless I can swing a 2-for-1 trade with someone else for a quality D or RW, I just don't have space for another goalie without giving up a skater.

Ask for Demko back with Barkov. Expect them to start winning under Boudreau.

Goalie cats are 40% of your week so yeah, you need one back for sure.

So... He accepted a trade of Barkov + Demko for Jarry + Larkin. But we're both having second thoughts and it's a friendly transaction that I could cancel within 24 hours. He'd settle for Saros and I'd settle for less than Barkov. And we might both be happier. What do you guys think? If I gave up Saros for someone who's less than Barkov, like Josi, Lindholm, M. Tkachuck, Huberdeau or Rantanen (we'd have to negotiate, obviously) and then dropped someone like Larkin, Bunting or Raymond for someone like Raanta, would I still come out ahead? I'd get a fair upgrade in skaters for a downgrade in goalies.

Saros is better than Jarry. Just go with it. It’s a fair trade and good trade.

Giving up Saros for someone who is less than Barkov makes no sense.

Jarry is less than Saros, so be happy to get Barkov for Jarry.

Thanks guys. I made the move. Barkov + Demko for Jarry + Larkin. If Demko and VAN get it together, I figure this could be a big win for me. If not, I still have Vas and Saros to fall back on. But Barkov left early last night - apparently unrelated to the earlier injury. Sure hope he's ok.
