Crosby and Seguin for my DeAngelo and Eichel (IR)

Another GM messaged me asking if I'd do this trade, so no official offer I can accept/reject. I'm hoping Barkov and Nurse return next week and my team should drastically improve, however, I've recently slipped from 4th to 6th and I'm losing this week as well.

I like Crosby more than DeAngelo, and I'd probably drop Olofsson (or Kubalik) for Seguin but I'm not sure that's enough of an upgrade when I'll have an empty defenseman slot. I'd probably need to drop both Kubalik and Olofsson so I can add a FA defenseman (Fowler, Slavin, Muzzin, Parayko).

Any opinions on if it's an improvement for my team? I'm confident Vegas will make space for Eichel when he's ready to return in February/March but I've been struggling lately.

if you need the help now to make the playoffs i think its a good trade. you're essentially gaining sid and seguin for tony d WRT production, that's a crazy good return. however, if you think you'll make the playoffs eichel will likely be a big boost there so i may stand pat as deangelo could push for 60-70 points this year

I think I can make playoffs with this team. Been missing Barokov and Nurse for 2 weeks and rostering E. Kane all season has cost me a lot of games played. The race is actually really close as of this week with 1st being at 104 points and me (6th) at 98 points. 9th place has 87 points.

I may stand pat with what I have and tell him I'll do this in a few weeks if I'm outside a playoff spot.

You know what you're getting with Crosby. He's getting older but will still be a top 15 player barring injury.

Eichel is a massive question mark and you'll only be getting 1-2 months of value out of him at the most.

TDA is good, but your D are pretty set with Carlson+Nurse in a 14 team league. Muzzin is consistently pretty good.

Seguin is completely washed. I might keep him over Kubalik/Olofsson but he's a tough hold. I would try to swap out Seguin for someone else.

But regardless, I would do it. I think Crosby alone is better than Eichel+TDA

Yeah I'm not expecting Seguin to improve on his current pace. He has Ehlers, Kreider, teravainen, trocheck, and theodore. Any of those you'd want swapped for Seguin?

I’d take Kreider over Seguin. He’s having a really good year.

nah, Tony is a ppg defender guaranteed and Eichel will torch the league when he starts feeding Patches full time.

This would make sense if you weren't getting Crosby in return. You're basically hoping Eichel will return and be a top 5 C option, which Crosby arguably already is. You're tempted to play into a huge risk with zero net reward.

I drafted Eichel too, hoping for the same thing you are, he comes back in time for fantasy playoffs and gives a huge boost. Crosby is literally what I hope Eichel will be when he returns. Why not take the sure thing in Sid?

listen to your gut and hold Jack, elite shot producer in his own right, essentially a for free trade acquisition come playoff time.

Even if it's 1-2 months, you will want Eichel down the stretch when it matters most; this guy is going to light it up in Vegas.

I decided to keep Eichel. I'm in 8th place this week. Just gotta make playoffs and I'm sure I'll be happy I kept Eichel!
