Social media. It is too easy for uneducated/ignorant/easily-duped people to go into echo chambers and be brain-washed with misinformation. There is a big increase in online "experts" who do their own research and know better than seasoned professionals. Logic and rational thought are thrown out the window.

mRNA vaccine research began in the 1960s. Testable vaccines were created in the 1990s. Viable mRNA vaccines have been developed for things like the flu and Ebola many years ago. But due to high cost, other much cheaper and effective vaccines being available, and the rarity of things like Ebola, they were never put into large scale production. The tech was expensive, not new.

High efficacy , moderate effectiveness, which can be potentially dangerous. The CDC saying fully vaccinated people don't need to wear masks (I don't have direct quote) anymore was such a doehead move.
