Trade Palat for Ehlers ?

I got offered Ehlers (thread about him) for my Palat (thread about him) .
There is also bonus in that offer: Evander Kane, but I had to drop somebody, so I will go 1:1 trade probably.

Is is a clear upgrade ROS to aquire slumping Ehlers from slumping Winnipeg?
Palat is not so productive aswell without Point and Kutcherov. But they will come back (Point in a month I hope).
Will Ehlers/Winnipeg turn around?

Palat has hits, Ehlers has twice as much shots. He is shooting a lot, but the shots arent very dangerous.

Or it is close trade regarding circumstances?

thanks very much for replies. I forgot to add that I already have Scheifele, Pionk and Hellebuyck from Winnipeg.
My second thought is that I dont want to commit to 4 players from slumping team with cloudy uncertain future.
Furthermore my Batheson just got healthy, so I cannot trade now, need to clear my IR slots. :-(
I will come back to this trade in later days. But I got your message, that now is a good time for buy low Ehlers. Window could be closed very soon.

I am not worried long term about the Jets offense. This is a slam dunk win IMO that you just make it and worry about having too many guys on one team later. You can make a second deal when they all catch fire (or just enjoy the production).

Thanks all! Meanwhile things escalated quickly:
I was not sure if I am allowed to trade, when I have Batheson healty on IR slot, and I didnt want to drop anybody.
So I wanted to find out and we changed some trade offers and rejects both ways with Ehlers owner.

Until he send me this offer: Ehlers, De Angelo (IR Covid), E.Kane for my Palat, Theodore, Hartman.

Usually I take hours to evaluate the trade, but this one I accepted in seconds.
Partly because I studied the these players before and partly for feeling (should not happen to good GM I suppose

My reasoning:

De Angelo is better this season than Theodore by numbers and it will probably stays like that, if he will focus to play ;-) DeAngelo have more PP% than Theodore. And Carolina has better fantasy playoff calendar than Vegas.

Ehlers is better than Palat as you all said.

E.Kane is ofcourse gambling from my side, but I would trade those 3 players even without E.Kane on other side of trade to create roster space.
Hartman is running hot, but this will not last, I selled him when he has some value. He is a streamer and not keeper, yeah? I tried to trade him 1 for 1 before, but nobody wanted him (in our league, GMs dont value free waiver pick ups very high, they are too proud to accept such trade).
If E.Kane project will go to nowhere, I simply drop him to create roster space.

Any final thoughts on this bigger trade? Tnx.
