Mike Smith v Francouz (REP!!)

Need to drop one of these guys.

Markstrom and Samsonov/Vanecek are my main guys and we start 2G per week, so this 4th goalie spot is not critical.

But I think either Smith (upon return from injury) and Francouz (now back) can both have solid value this year given their teams, and I could use insurance in case the Caps combo regresses, so want to choose right.

Francouz would be my choice. It's easier to bounce back from injury @ 31 than 39. Frankie has shown he can put up great numbers and with GAA & SV% as cats in your setup, that's the route I would take. Throw in Kuemper's injury history, who knows, he could be getting the majority of starts in Denver.

I stashed Francouz in hopes that his legs are holding together with the Gorilla Glue he borrowed from Kuemper. I think stashing either of these guys is/was a good idea. Only doubt I have about going with Franc over Smith is that Avs might entertain that dreaded 3-headed monster. Might save them money not flying Johansson all over the place as these two play tag with IR.

Both are made of paper. I would stick with Smith. He's at least pretty much guaranteed the #1 spot whereas Francouz is a backup.

You really just gotta bank on which is most likely to avoid a light breeze that will keep them out another 2 months.

I stashed francouz myself . Going to leave him on IR and see

Francouz as he's currently healthy enough to be on a NHL roster, not IR.

Franky is very underrated with solid numbers when he's in, and I have no faith that Kuemper will stay healthy for an entire season. Smith is pushing 40 and will take a while to get back into it, and re-injury is always a concern.

Francouz is supposed to be going on an ahl conditioning stint. Smith hopefully won’t be out too much longer. I’d drop the backup Francouz and hold onto the Starter Smith.
