To be fair yes his wife seems batshit crazy and like a complete pathological liar but that does not excuse any of his behavior. He has no business in the NHL.

One thing I still don't understand is, why didn't SJ void his contract when given the chance? What was the reason for that? Seemed like a get out of jail free card.

I would have to think they legally couldn't without making themselves a target legally?

I would think SJS, submitting a fake vaccination card, could have been in a legal sticky situation if they started pursuing Kane legally for giving them one. Also, I wonder how much they are attached to his debts.

I would think the SJS did their due diligent on the potential of voiding his deal, before entertaining the idea of retaining 50% of his salary to trade him away. There's got to be a reason.

The Sharks couldn't void his contract. The CBA wouldn't let them because he served a 21 game suspension which was determined to be the punishment.

He is vaccinated. Kane said himself during his Barracuda interview the other day. I think the Sharks assistant GM said he is vaccinated also.

Sorry, didn't include enough context. I am referring to his Bankruptcy hearing earlier this year. I could have sworn that the judge provided an option to void his contract and SJ declined. Does anyone else remember that?

Granted that was before the vax card mess and the other recent accusations, but he wasn't exactly a model citizen at that point anyway.

Evander Kane also has a MNTC. Submtis a 3 team trade list. Could make things more difficult. It's rumoured 1 of the teams are the Jets. So...it's a 2 team list essentially lol.

And he makes more money in the AHL as he doesn't have to pay escrow. So...does Kane have any real need to rush back to the NHL from his stand point? Guy makes more money in the AHL, stays in California, and likely keeps creditors off his back a bit more because he's making a bit more money per yr. Escrow is like 14-18% of the contract so for Kane it's $980k-$1.26m

Yes. A Player with any type of trade restriction can always waive said clause and agree to any trade.

Toronto is way too much of a media hotbed for this guy. He needs a quiet place to play. SJS was pretty quiet and things still managed to get out of hand.

I don’t know if this guy makes it back to the bigs… Maybe a team that needs to reach the cap floor if SJS retains a whole bunch of the cash.
