What are the chances he plays this year? He's a cancer, but he's also a game changer, especially from a fantasy aspect. He's sitting as a FA in my league, cats in sig. Worth stashing or stay away? Who would go?

50.1% he plays. Really, no one knows when/if he'll play. The sharks are fighting for a playoff spot and as much of a douchebag Kane is he's a good hockey player. I think the sharks would rather use him and possibly make playoffs than tell him to stay home and pay that salary.

I'm pretty high on chances that Kane plays.
He's not liked in the locker room but has 3 years left on a contract with a salary of $7 million. Once his suspension is over he is going to get paid. the Team could make him sit and buy him out in the offesason but that does not seem likely. More likely they get him back in the lineup and either he plays well and moves on or they showcase him for a trade.

The real question is whether or not he is worth stashing in case he does play. And to me, the answer is clearly yes, it's worth the risk. He was a top 25 player with incredible cat coverage last year, and the Sharks' fantasy playoff schedule is among the best. Let's say the odds are 50/50. By stashing him, you have a 50% chance of grabbing a guy who could be the FA pickup of the year and win you the pool. Especially in your league where PIMs are counted.

I grabbed him and stashed in both my leagues the second I read he was skating at the Sharks practice facility. If he doesn't play then oh well, I burned my streaming spot for a week. I would drop Smith or Kylington in your league and hold for 2 weeks.

Done. I agree, he cost me nothing but a roster spot for a week or two. If things don't work out, I'll drop him. He's a fantasy game changer and worth the low cost investment.

If they can find a trade partner, I can see him playing. If they can't find a partner, I'm not as confident.

Friedman today on his pod - his theory is that he will go to the AHL on a conditioning stint, he has heard that the Sharks have let teams know that they will retain money in a trade. He has heard he is now vaccinated, but he doesnt know for sure

In a roto league with bench spots (not H2H) it's a no-brainer to put him on the bench and see what happens. I'm around +8 in projected GP by design so even if I'm hit with injuries I'm not in a hurry to find a replacement. In that league I have Kane on my bench and Tuch on IR. Happy to wait and see.

I'm happy to hold him on my bench until we get word what will happen to him. If it's at all positive I'll continue to hold unless I'm outside a playoff spot and need the games played to compete. Right now, comfortably in 5th place and if Kane plays he'll be a massive boost to any team with SOG, Hits, and PIMs.

I hope he does play, then I get back my 1st in futures and an additional second. Plus I got Alex Tuch who will be a top-six forward in Buffalo. Last time Tuch was given a chance as a top-sixer he had 40 points in 44 games. Gonna love that deal when he comes back from his injury, regardless if Evander Kane plays or not. He's just a useless POS.

The conditioning stint idea makes a ton of sense, as he's not going to have played any hockey. We'll know more later.

I'm salivating at the possibility of getting Kuch, Eichel and Kane in my lineup for a playoff run. Even 2 of the 3 could be a series changer.
