    Default Lafreniere's trade value

    Hey all,

I'm looking for some insight regarding Lafreniere's value right now.

But in a keepers league, you have to start at the beginning so here goes:

    League breakdown

    20 active players
    - 12 forwards (F)
    - 6 defensemen (D)
    - 2 goalkeepers (G)

    4 bench

    - any position

    2 IR
    - injured reserves

    12 rookies (R)

    1. We can keep 9 players at the end of the season + all of our rookies;
    2. Rookies need to be bumped up if, at the beginning of a season, they're 25 or over OR have played more than 150 NHL games;
    3. Skaters Goal/Assists (1 pt) (+2 extra for HT)
    4. Goalkeeper Wins (2 pts) (+3 extra pts for SO)
    5. Only active players contribute to your point total (so rookies and bench don't)
    6. We are 12 GMs

    F Sam Bennett
    Oliver Bjorkstrand
    Andre Burakovsky
    Anthony Duclair
    Marcus Foligno
    Adam Henrique
    Roope Hintz
    Kasperi Kapanen
    J.T. Miller
    F Ryan Strome
    Andrei Svechnikov
    Pavel Zacha
    Andrew Mangiapane Brock Nelson
    Jakub Vrana (IR)
    D Gustav Forsling
    Hampus Lindholm
    Colin Miller
    Brandon Montour
    MacKenzie Weegar
    Zach Werenski
    Jakob Chychrun
    Darnell Nurse (IR)
G Jack Campbell Elvis Merzlikins Kaapo Kahkonen
    R Xavier Bourgault
    Mavrik Bourque
    Joel Farabee
    Alexis Lafreniere
    Connor McMichael
    Josh Norris
    Jakob Pelletier
    Eeli Tolvanen
    Calen Addison
    R Noah Dobson
    Luke Hughes Jeremy Swayman

    Trade breakdown

    Alexis Lafreniere
    Jeremy Swayman

    for

    Drew Dougty
    Jamie Drysdale
    R1 draft pick 2023*

    * our first 3 rounds are for rookie as defined above (under 25 AND below 150 games at season's start)

Here's another that was offered to me but I feel is not close in value:

    Alexis Lafreniere
    Noah Dobson
    R1 draft pick 2022 (late)*

    Moritz Seider
    R1 draft pick 2023 (mid)*

    * our first 3 rounds are for rookie as defined above (under 25 AND below 150 games at season's start)4

I'm curious what the opinion of the forum here is on Laffy's development and trade value. He's still ranked 46th/300 in dobbers keeper skaters so I'm not too sure myself.

    Cheers and thank you guys

Honestly, I’m holding onto Laf. Drysdale is a hell of add, but Swayman is a hell of a loss too. Laf’s value is low right now so you’re not going to get what he was worth a year or two ago. Be patient or pry all you can from the other owner. If the other owner replaces Doughty with someone younger with a lot of potential, then there is more to think about. But I’m thinking that Laf is going to breakout as a late bloomer and anyone who traded him will regret it (fingers crossed).

Nows the time to be buying him, not selling him. I don't like either of those trades and would quickly pass.

If you're impatient with Lafreniere, put him in your minors.

Let's be honest, most could see him going to NYR wasn't the best landing spot out if the gate due to their depth on the left side.

Remember, he's still 20 years old, he's on pace for 20 goals and is getting next to no PP time. He'll be fine, let it develop.

Agree with above. Be patient with Laf. He is playing on the 3rd line right now but I can see him moving up to play with either Strome/Panarin or Zib/Kreider. Hunt is not the answer there and while it is possible Rangers make a trade, I think it is just as likely Laf moves up. Can you quickly move any of your rookies to the main roster? If yes, keep Laf on the minor roster and wait.
