I am curious for your opinions on the return I got in this 4-teams trade.

Gave away: Matthews, Robertson, 3rd, 9th

Received: Point, Gaudreau, Zibanejad, Malkin, Kopitar, 6th

My keepers after the trade:

I plan on making 2 or 3 for 1 trades at the end of the season to upgrade my keepers.

If you're selling in order to win this year, then the deal is fine. But if you're dealing Matthews and the point is to improve your keepers, I don't believe that that is the way to go. You can say that you'll plan on improving your keepers at the end of the season, and if your experience shows that you can do that easily, then that's fine. But the deal you need to make at the end of the year is to get guys like Matthews back, that is, to undo the deal you just made.

Obviously I'm missing context (i.e., your specific motivation for downgrading your keepers right now)

I like it, assuming you're contending.

Improve team now for most of the season to contend. Worry later about a slight keeper downgrade later, and recoup picks given up.

You're right. I am selling in order to win this year. I am currently 1st but the 2nd GM is improving his team a lot through trades so I felt I had to downgrade my keepers to optimize my starting lineup. My borderline keepers are keepers on most teams so I'll probably make a huge trade at the end of the season to get a top 10 keeper or I'll grab some picks.

This year is getting ridiculous. I already have Kucherov on IR and I had an average of 4 guys on IR at all time. On the bright side, Point and Kucherov will come back at the same time.
