The way I see it, Huburdeeau and Letang could likely increase their pace, and McDavid will likely be slowing down his pace. Doughty is also out for at minimum 1.5 months still, and who knows what form he will return to when hes back. While he is injured I will likely pick up Dahlin who is 2.4 AVG

I rewrote this once I saw that you can replace Doughty, as you have an IR. If you had to use a spot for him, I would've passed, but I would take it.

Penguins goalies are inconsistent, but that SV to GA ratio is sweet for teams that see a lot of pucks.

I think Doughty will return on the lower end of his timeline. Thinking he will be looking to keep his pace (not that he will maintain 5.8 average) up and challenge for a spot on team Canada.

I'm going to guess the other GM is having injury issues and maxing out his IR and trying to get some relief. I think a healthy Penguins lineup will uptick the Wins (increase for Jarry).

Utilizing your IR for gain I'd make this deal.

You could probably send me any offer where I receive McDavid and I’d accept it. The only reason I’d hesitate on this one is because I’d shake my head, rub my eyes, blink three times and try to control my heart rate as I make sure I’m reading the absolute steal of an offer correctly before hitting accept.

Rep to the OP here as this is a really fair (and well thought through) ask of the community.

Obviously in any sort of keeper league, this is a no-brainer. But in a one-year, it's legit to really question losing solid depth to acquire a star. This means really looking at the waiver wire (which the OP has done) and guessing if there's any regression coming for any of the guys.

I still agree that yes, you make this deal, but if I was offered this, I'd really think it through too and maybe ask the community about it. Good luck.
