With the Braves winning the World Series and in an attempt to not be too greedy....

I like this signing for the Angels and I hope that the angels spend even more this offseason.
I would love to see Trout win the World Series. If its not my Braves... they would be my next desire! (Sorry Jays Fans!)

Like I hope they add another top end arm in Scherzer, Ray or Guasman.

And then add a couple more bats.

If they could get one of the top SS players... and maybe one of the Outfielders - Marte or Schwarber.

If Freddie goes anywhere outside of Atlanta... I hope its LAA and wins with Trout.

(Or even better option.... Bring Trout to Atlanta!!!)

Will Freeman pull a Pujols and leave the Braves?
If we see a lockout, bad things need to occur to Manfred and the owners. Criminal prosecution would be good as a start.

I expect we'll see a decent number of re-signings under this CBA.

I think Freeman stays with the Braves. AA is a competent GM, and knows what he has. Freeman's also not old.

Also, as a Jays fan, I'm happy with the Berrios deal.

Jays are very much in on Verlander according to Rosenthal. Verlander wants to play on a team that trains/pre-seasons in Florida, or at least really wants that as a selling point. Jays, Yankees, and RedSox are apparently all in on Verlander.

I would enjoy Verlander on the Jays, but it would depend on the length of the deal. He's 38 (I think 39 when the season starts) so it can't be anything over 2yrs., or without a team opt out.

Verlander signed a one year deal worth $25 million.

It has a player option for the second year.

So basically if Verlander sucks - it is a two year deal for him and he gets paid for two years.

IF Verlander does well he gets to hit free agency and get another big one year deal.

I like this contract a lot for Verlander and not at all for the AStros. He hasn't pitched since opening day 2020 and he is fast approaching 40.

I thought it was a team option at first, but man no wonder why Verlander went back because I doubt any other team who doesn't know Verlander really would have given a player option.

12yr, 223mill extension for Wander Franco.

Tatis at the same stage of his career signed a 14yr, 340mill deal and Acuna signed an 8yr, 100mill deal.

    Acuna deal is actually nuts.

These sorts of deals are why we won't see a lockout.

The owners know that they have a money factory, and they should know that most others know that. Are there stupid fans? Absolutely, but teams rake in the cash.

Matz signed a 4yr, 44mill deal with the Cards.

Last time the Jays lost a pitcher to the Cards was Cecil and they overpaid hard.

Jays apparently offered a 3yr deal to Matz. So they offered a 2yr earlier, then 3yr. I bet the other 6 teams in the race for Matz were likely in that 3yr range and the Cards won on the 4th yr.
