Varlamov

Anyone think his contract, history with team and relationship with Trotz keep him getting starts as a 1B or is he now the official back-up?

Secondly, is he worth more than Holtby or Khudobin... I can only roster one of the three goalies. My other Gs are Lehner, Jarry and Merzlikins.

I have Bishop stashed on IR (it won't be long before he or Oettinger must play due to the ugly they currently have in nets).

I dunno but I'm holding cuz I'm hopeful he does get starts. with 2 b2bs this month and 3 next we know he'll get in at least a handful of games

I don't trust the Dallas goaltenders so I prefer Varlamov personally but that might be wishful thinking.

the isles sked hasnt been friendly towards varlamov getting any work in after coming off IR but that will eventually change .

sorokin has bought himself a lot of rope with his great start but trotz is loyal to veterans so when the sked heats up we'll see what happens

Varlamov will be very important to the Isles. Like Butch said, the sked was pretty light and allowed Varly to get healthy. He'll get his share of starts and even if he doesn't I'd still rather have him than those other two so called "Stars".

I'm a bit late, but yes, I think Varlamov is part of the tandem. He's not the backup, they are just easing him back in.
