Now is a great time to buy on Elias. Now is not a good time to sell on Elias. You might get a lesser top pairing defensemen for him but you sure aren't going to land one of the big dogs. Right now Elias is on a 37 point pace. That's not going to attract a whole lot of attention. Obviously he is better than that, but the last few years numbers and injury concerns have not been what folks expected of him based on his first two years in the league. I'm assuming you are the Pettersson owner here, so the answer to your question is, not much, hold on until he turns it around and increases his value. That will happen IMO, but when is the million dollar question.

Yep as others have already noted - his current value is brutal so this is 100% league (and more specifically GM) dependent.
You'll need to find a trade partner who a) sees and wants the potential upside and b) is ok with that risk. And even then, you're likely only getting a mid-range D option back right now.
Hold if you can... but if not, maybe target a similar underachieving Dman with big upside (Dahlin comes to mind) so that both sides are balancing the risks/rewards.

League details ALWAYS matter to me. He's more valuable in points-only, and in multi-cat, he takes a hit. Assuming this is the league in your signature, you're likely looking at a Hronek kind of return on the low end, and maybe an underperforming high upside Dahlin type if you're lucky.Originally Posted by TheBends
