For a reminder, below is the Seth Jones deal. Plus, this needs to be coupled with the extension of Jones.

for
Boqvist, 12th overall (2021, Silinger), 44th overall (2021, Heimosalmi), 2022 Conditional 1st round pick (wins lottery, becomes 2023 1st)

Conditions:
If Vegas 1st round pick in 2022 draft is NOT a top 10pic then:
- Vegas will transfer its own 1st round pick, and it's 2nd round pick (2023) to Buffalo
-Buffalo will transfer it's 2023 3rd to Vegas

If Vegas draft pick is a top 10 pick in 2022:
- Vegas will transfer it's 2023 1st, it's 2024 2nd to Buffalo
- Buffalo will transfer it's 2024 3rd to Vegas

Get the feeling Flames likely would have had to dive more into their starting line up to make a deal work.
More of a addition by subtraction for four months.
Vying for a playoff spot - almost seems counter-intuitive.

Considering they were dealing from such a position of weakness, Buffalo didn't do too bad in the end.
They possibly could have done better if they traded Eichel back before the draft and they only have themselves to blame... no doubt.
But stuck in a corner, it feels like they're lucky to end up with 3 solid pieces for a rebuild.

If Vegas plays like they did against the Leafs until Eichel/Patches and Stone return there will be no cup to win because they will not make the playoffs. They will be too far behind to catchup
