Default I need a new hockey podcast

Ideally one hosted by former players or front office staff and not one hosted by journalists or people who cover hockey but never played.

    Anyone know a good one?

Not talking about any of the ones like spitting chicklets or ones featuring former enforcers… or the mainstream one like Ray and Dreg.

Anyone have one they like that is hosted by former players or execs?

Sorry, I'm only aware of journalist or fantasy hockey podcasts. Roenick had one a while back but that went defunct.

Puck Soup is still my go to. I love the blend with pop culture.

    But ya. It's journalists.

What you don't already listen to Don Cherry's podcast lol.

Keeping Karlsson and Spittin Chicklets are my most listened to ones. Not sure if Dom Luszczyszyn still has his HockeyPDO podcast still going or not.

Umm your a Habs fan... not really a podcast but can check out HabsTonight on YouTube. Features Derrick and Dale Weise at times. They get interviews sometimes from the players. They've had Gally, Mete, Suzuki, probably more Im not remembering.

If you like laughing at the pain of others, Steve Dangle is a fun follow. First hand look at the pains of being a Leaf fan.

Maybe not anything to listen to all the time, but the latter mentioned can offer some really tasty ear candy for those willing to listen to niche episodes.

Cant say I know of any that fit your request. If you're a Habs fan, a couple of my buddies in NS cover the Habs in one called Habs Unfiltered. I know they haven't played pro hockey. Both are current RCN members with me.

I love the PDOCast -- it's definitely more stats-focused, but solid overall.

Pdo cast may be the way to go..

    Haha the Cherry one… no… that’s ok.

I was an avid puck soup listener before but Greg and Ryan just got way too gratuitous with their takes and got too geeky for me and that’s saying a lot. Maybe got too goofy. It’s why Sean’s presence is so necessary because despite his own goofy site DGB, on this podcast he’s at least a little more relaxed and measured in his takes and discussion.

I’ll go back to PDOcast. See if I can pick it up again… I wish more former execs or scouts had podcasts. We’ve seen a lot of internet site guys go to hockey teams. I think the reverse would provide good insider takes and perspective and would be fun.

    Thanks everyone.

Ouf, the Habs lol. Saw it coming so it’s easier to ride through. Did not see last year coming so that was a great ride and surprise. So it goes as a Habs fan.
