It was an odd move by Florida by releasing their own statement and not JQ saying something.

But with the time they had to prepare a statement for him post release...I don't get why he didn't speak. But ya we'll hear a prepared statement for him for sure. It'll be written by some 20yr old intern so it'll be politically correct too, but then he'll stand by what he said in the investigation because his whole career is at stake.

Cheveldayoff and Florida's statements were very odd. Cheveldayoff at least spoke and said something. Quenneville had his statement made by Florida and they just pretty much said "no comment"

just saying no comment should be a testament to his integrity here. Said he had no recollection of the meeting or knowledge of the incident then all of a sudden he was in the meeting and he recommended they delay dealing with the situation because the players couldn’t handle it while in the playoffs. He looks like a piece of garbage here and instead of stepping down because he knows he is in the wrong he’s just gonna wait to be fired, if/when that happens

JQ talked to media this morning.

- Prepared statement
- Says he'll talk to Bettman on Thursday. Said "He thinks it's up in New York"
- Says he's still interested in contributing to the process (oh wow, what a saint)
- Says there was a team meeting held today about it. (Had several little quick meetings about different subjects). When asked if the CBH situation was one of them, JQ said "It was addressed"
- A reporter asked if JQ stands by what he said in July and JQ said "I do, but I can't comment"
- Will coach tonight

This is another stumbled. Bettman and JQ couldn't talk today? Or highly suggest maybe step out of tonights game and talk to Bettman about this? I don't get it.

Assistant coaches could step in for 1 game. Teams have gone through this already when a head coach tests positive for COVID. Not a reason to allow him to coach tonight to me.

Without instant strikes/steps towards Cheveldayoff and Quenneville, I would lean to believe the NHL had no prep work done about what the investigation would open up.

It'll be in person. For some reason. I don't understand why you need to have an in person hearing anymore with the quality of Zoom out there now. But these are millionaires. They can get on any flight and go to NY ASAP if they are told too.

In-person meeting in NY shouldn't be the reason why they couldn't meet before tonights games.

This is assuredly correct. No move with major media scrutiny happens without a massive meeting with lawyers to shield themselves.
