Not once in Chicago's apology did I see an apology to gaslighting Kyle Beach

Count me as someone who thinks anything they do with JQ and KC won't have any teeth. Nothing the NHL does ever has teeth.

Man, watching that TSN interview was rough but everyone should do it.

I hope Beach gets even more vindication even if it's hard to believe the NHL, after doing absolutely nothing about it for a decade, would somehow wound up with the right decisions now.

For all the great things Bettman did business-wise for the NHL, his track record for handling these kind of scandals is hardly shiny. Money talks and everything but this is still regular people we're talking about. Lives being ruined. Dreams crushed. It has to account for something...Hard to be a hockey fan right now.

I still can't get over this "FINE" thing.

$2M for a situation like this involving multiple counts of Sexual Assault (one of which taking place AFTER Kyle's incident was brought forth to the team Brass which is unforgivable).

$3M to NJ for the Kovalchuk contract issue.

    I mean holy FAK!!!

JQ and Chevy would be gone immediately if they still worked for Chicago. The fact they don't shouldn't absolve them. They'll be gone. Maybe not for the right reasons but the NHL doesn't want the storm that the media will bring down on them if it's anything less IMO.

If this could also take out Bettman, 2 birds...

It's horrible optics. Much like Chicago staff dragging their feet, seems Bettman and the NHL are choosing to drag their feet on this as well.

The NHLPA knew about this as well. EVERYONE failed Beach. His own Union turned their backs on him. That's so disturbing.

The NHL is failing at every turn here.

Count me as someone who thinks JQ and Chevy don't lose their jobs after these meetings. 'Boys will be boys' still holds too much sway.

I'm going to repeat what I posted elsewhere here, given your comment:

Quenneville is done. This is 2021, not 2010, Bettman and the NHL would be crazy not to impose harsh punishment, and even if they didn’t JQ will not want to deal with the fallout by continuing as Panthers coach. He’ll resign.

The tide has turned. The public is no longer going to tolerate the old boys approach. The NHL knows they need young fans, and those fans will stay away forever if this kind of thing is improperly handled.

NOTE: It’s not just what Q did during the run, to insist on delaying any investigation or fallout until after the Cup was won. He let this guy participate fully in the celebration festivities and then, I believe, gave him a recommendation - and then the piece of shit leveraged that to get other work and eventually abused a 16yo hockey player in Michigan.

    Q is done.

As for Chevy, it's a tad more questionable but I think he's done too - Chipman won't want the franchise to be in any way tainted by this.

So, it was brought up that legally, these apologizes might be so BS because of the way some of the laws are written.

In Ontario you can apologize for a crime, and not have it used against you in a court. You can apologize for murdering someone, but in court that apology can't be used as evidence/confession. Maybe in Illinois there isn't that type of law, so then these apologies have to dance around a legit apology in case it gets used in court as an admission of guilt.

Oh I fully agree the NHL would be crazy not to do anything and he 100% SHOULD resign or be fired but I'll believe the tide has turned when I see it. If he was going to resign he would've done it already why is he waiting for a meeting? So that Bettman can give him the option I guess?

You have far too much faith in a league that has never done the right thing one single time in it's entire history.
