Sell high on Puljujarvi
I got an average offer for Puljujarvi (a mid 1st round pick). I truly believe that Pulju will break out this year. But what if.... I can sell high and make him pay for it. I mean it *could* go South at some point say he's off 97's line...
So?
Counter offer to try to sell high, see if he bites?

Counter and see what you can do to squeeze some more out of a trade. The problem with Puljujarvi is that he isn’t getting that prime PP1 time that’s going to Hyman. If you can get someone to overpay, take the deal. Worst case, you don’t get a deal you can’t turn down, so you keep the guy you want to keep.

I'll trade anyone if the value is there. I wouldn't trade Puljujarvi for a mid 1st round pick. Go back and counter with a strong offer and see how badly he wants Puljujarvi.

Thanks guys, but as I expected, the answer was : 'he didn't want him that badly'.
I think he wanted to kick tires and see if he could have it for cheap.
Guy is last right now, and thought he'd use that smoke to sell his first (Wright! as if it was first overall next year) for immediate impact. But my calculations have him around 7th to 10th out of 18. I'm not falling for that trap, especially not in mid October with 5 games in

Most are probably better off holding Puljujarvi and enjoying the production. It’s not like anybody is going to trade a Matthews or some other slumping stud for him. He’s in a good position to produce all year and should be a 65-ish point guy or maybe even 70 despite the limited PP1 time. Playing with that mutant McDavid at ES is pretty much like playing PP1 anywhere else.

To be fair, if he gets split from McDavid and ends up with Draisatl that's perfectly fine.

That would be a perfect sell high. If Puljujarvi goes, say, 2 points in 10 games or something, there's no way you could get Hughes for him. As a Pulj owner I hope that does not happen but it definitely could! Pulj's value is unstable - it is very high right now, could crash down with a slump, and could fly up again with another hot streak.
