This organization WAS the class of the league for years and years - those names you list are indeed top tier players and individuals. That’s what makes this so hard - to see all that torn down by a completely f’ed up decision. The fact that it may have “sealed Bergevin’s fate” is bs. The team from the top down knew who they were drafting. If that for, some inexplicable reason, is not true, once it was done there should have been action taken and there was not. I agree completely - the kid made a mistake, complied with his punishment, and asked not to be drafted. That should have been the end of it. Move on and pick up his career until next draft. The decision to draft him by Montreal was beyond mind bogglingly stupid, tone deaf, and scummy. The fact that this organization was so storied and classy is part of what makes this move so incredibly asinine. **** this team. If you don’t have a probelm with it you’re just along for the dirt bag ride. Just my opinion.

I still can't for the life of me understand why they did it - it's not like this guy is the second coming of Bobby Orr, they drafted him what 8 spots above where he was ranked? I'm pretty sure he was a top 15 ranked player that fell in rankings when the news (of what he did) came out.

I like the Canes trolling of the Habs to date including the press release during the signing and now the website. I also think that is enough trolling for one team, after awhile it gets tired.

It's like a beer league team or group of buddies ripping each other, when everyone is ripped back-and-forth it's fun when you just pick on one guy over and over its stupid.

enter this Dig at the Leafs. Good stuff. Also for a still newer team in a non-traditional market you have to do whatever you can to get and keep fan engagement.
