Default Any theories as to why Shattenkirk is off to a blazing start?

Dobber had him with 19 points this year in Anaheim. His best days are clearly behind him. But, there are athletes out there who change their diet, get more serious about the fitness and so on. I'm wondering if this might of happened with Shatt? Or is this just a hot start that will fade? His best year is only 56 points, great season no doubt, but he's never duplicated that. Although he did get 34 in 2019 on a Tampa team that had Hedman and Sergachev ahead of him in the PP time.

Just wondering if he might be a dark horse this year for maybe 45 points? Dobber gave Drysdale 34 points this year in the Guide. I find that hard to believe as rookie D are usually not that good in their first year. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

He did have surgery to "remove some loose bodies floating around in his knee"
Shatty says he's feeling much better and is a lot more confident in his game. Confidence goes a long ways.
While I don't think he will keep this pace up... I think he will definitely get over 19.

In 2019-2020 with TBL he had 19 points in his first 24 games, then 15 in his next 46.

Shat said he feels good coming off surgery, but it's too small a sample size for me.

I believe Fowler and Drysdale will eventually start picking up points and they are both in better positions (the latter the PP1 QB) to succeed.

Ducks fan here. Eakins said this year its a "requirement" that Dmen get more active on offense. More shots, walking the blue line better, getting to the top of the faceoff circles on forechecks, etc... I think he will benefit from this new system but I do see a regression happening.

    Thanks for all the feedback.

I obviously don't think he's going to keep up a 70 point pace, but a 45 point season would be pretty nice.
