With Colorado's lackluster start to the season, I foresee Bednar getting canned soon and John Tortarella to come in to get this " win now" team over the hump.
I'm surprised he lasted as long as he did.

a few weeks ago before the poop hit the fan in chicaco I wondered if bowman would be let go before colliton and whoever became new gm would make the call on the next coach
Now that Colliton is out, let’s vote for who has next.
My vote:
Travis Green
Rick Bowness, unless the Stars’ offense wakes up soon.
CONDORS, 2022-23 league champions, Reg Dunlop Mem Cup
12-team, H2H. Keep 12, but drop 2 of top four skaters, and also 2 of next six, then five more (from end-of-year rankings). One GK max.
Stutzle, Sergachev
Keller, Doughty, Verhaeghe, ErikssonEk
E.Lindholm, Barzal, J.Gaudreau, Huberdeau, S. Wright
Gustavsson
Benning and Green at the same time.

I thought Benning turned a corner when he got rid of those albatross contracts for some pretty good players. Hughes fell in his lap I suppose. I expected more out of this roster than what’s going on that’s for sure. I felt like last night’s drubbing sealed it. This team has no direction and the coach is not punishing the right players…
Travis Green will get canned for sure, well I think it's gonna be a for thing, but more importantly Benning needs to go as well. This team isn't going anywhere fast and they need a new voice and a new chapter altogether.
Green
Then Bowness or Ducharme.

Another rough game for the Canucks, I have a feeling if they get beat by Anaheim tomorrow, come Monday we see a firing take place...they've been pure awful. Garbage hockey.
They signed green to a two year extension in Jan didn’t they? Maybe it’s a cash thing but boy, this team looks worse and worse.

Canucks have long needed to dump the GM. There are a few other teams that need to do the same for various reasons.
Want a Signature? Go to Settings, and you'll find Edit Signature down the list on the left.
Dumping the GM wont fix the special teams. I like Green but am growing weary of seeing the same product every year. The team is developing and trying to evolve but the coach hasn’t changed at all. They got rid of thier PP coach last year and he is now in Anaheim, they seem to have that PP going. I see the Canucks playing the same system every game. They are bored with it. I am bored with it. Either let them use their talents and play hockey or Im sorry, it is time to move on.
Benning has been with the team for 7yrs? And made the playoffs twice, winning record 2 of those yrs, 4/7 yrs have finished 5th or lower in the division.
I don't think firing the GM mid-season is ever the right move, or as a way to fix the current season, but Benning's time is up. Green has 1 winning season and have been saved by COVID as a reason he's stuck around even though his only winning yr has been a shortened season.
It really depends on how the ownership is treating this. Benning might feel the pressure and take it out on Green, there might be no pressure from ownership/president and Benning holds out the season.
I also know the team has been spanked the last 3 games, but they are 5-7-2, and 2 wins in a row really flips how they look.
