havent seen anything. he tested positive, asymptomatic but still out min 10 days. earliest would be the 12th but that'll depend on some negative tests

If you are symptomatic, you're out 10days. If you're asymptomatic you need 2 (or 3?) negative tests 24hrs apart to be removed from COVID protocol.

Unless they've changed it and I'm unaware, if he's out 10days, he's symptomatic. Then post 10days, he needs to be asymptomatic before going into the next steps. Once he's asymptomatic he needs 2 (or3?) negative tests 24hrs apart to be removed.

here’s what I found. And I thought I saw an athletic article saying he was asymptomatic but can’t find it right now

- This season, if a player tests positive, he must immediately self-isolate and follow requirements consistent with local public health regulations. For a player who is asymptomatic, there are two ways out of isolation: test negative or wait 10 days. If he is still asymptomatic at that point, he can return to the ice. A player who is symptomatic faces different standards: He must test negative twice or have at least 10 days pass since symptoms appeared. Additionally, all players must be cleared by a cardiologist and a team physician before returning to play.

Vaccinated, asymptomatic = 2 or more negative tests in a row 24hrs apart from each other.

Vaccinated, symptomatic = Remain in isolation until all the following conditions are satisfied:
- If at least 10days have passed since symptoms first appeared, and at least 24hrs have passed since last fever without the use of fever-reducing medications, and symptoms have improved
- In addition, Physician, must ok he's not infectious to others
- The termination of the isolation requirement is consistent with local public regulations.


I do think there's a lot of "depending on the team physician" talk. So the league can kinda adjust it? And the team might have it's own protocol, and then the city/local health has their own.

Both are vaccinated (Carolina announced in September team is 100% vaccinated) so this is a team decision. Prolly got hit hard with COVID and are suffering side-effects (lost weight/muscle).

Canada's COVID-19 rules will prevent DeAngelo or Brett Pesce from linking up with the rest of the Hurricanes during the remaining three outings of a four-game Canadian road trip. As such, the 26-year-old DeAngelo won't be eligible to play until Tuesday's clash with the Wild.

So is Canada's rule you need to be 14days past a COVID positive test to enter? Is that it?

Don’t know. You live there…you tell me! When I read it I got the impression it was the NHL being extra conservative in not letting them go to Canada. Here is the quote from Friedman…
