Well, this is a new wrinkle to the COVID rules lol.

Vaccinated, asymptomatic = 2 or more negative tests in a row 24hrs apart from each other.

Vaccinated, symptomatic = Remain in isolation until all the following conditions are satisfied:
- If at least 10days have passed since symptoms first appeared, and at least 24hrs have passed since last fever without the use of fever-reducing medications, and symptoms have improved
- In addition, Physician, must ok he's not infectious to others
- The termination of the isolation requirement is consistent with local public regulations.

I don't really see a reason for the difference here. What does this even achieve? :S :S

So is Canada's rule you need to be 14days past a COVID positive test to enter? Is that it?

Yes... new due to the Omicron Variant, but it was my understanding it was any country other than Canada or USA in the past 14 days. We have truck drivers cross multiple times a day.

Edit: Nevermind that's a different rule.
Any positive covid test requires a 14 day quarantine... it's been like that for a long while actually. I guess there was no stipulation on it being waived if negative tests were produced.

People who are wodnering why the Flames got games suspended so quickly and have 7ppl in protocol unlike the NYI who had 9 it's because of the border. If the team crosses the border and ppl test positive while in the states, the process for them to be eligible to play in Canada is longer. Apparently. I'm not 100% sure the rules, but that's the reason why they got their games suspended so quickly compared to others.

I'm sure getting 7 flags over 24hrs influenced it hard too.

Maybe the rules aren't as tight as they should be? I said this when Ottawa got hit. At what point is it the teams fault, and at what point do we start to think the rules aren't what they should be.

Maybe the rules aren't as tight as they should be? I said this when Ottawa got hit. At what point is it the teams fault, and at what point do we start to think the rules aren't what they should be.

We have plenty of rules for people to follow, and everyone is vaccinated, we all know what it takes at this point, other than redeploying bubbles there isnt much else to do. It is unrealistic to think the virus wont be in and out of the NHL until it dies off.

Vaccinated players could follow current non-vaccinated covid protocols (or variation there of), which is a lot more restrictive. It would help, but I doubt the players will agree to such restrictions, or it be even worth it.

There are added rules you can have. There's always additions to restrictions that can be added, it's if it'll happen or not.

I'm starting to wonder if there's data the NHL has collected on their contact tracing and seeing if there's some position that seems to bring it in more, or some event that is exposing the NHL.

You have Carolina cases now. Who have they played recently....Flames Dec9th, then the Canes played the Oilers and Canucks before Aho, Jarvis and a staff member got put into protocol.

Rules will change. Things are getting a bit out of hand. If you have another Calgary like situation happen soon, I can't see how things stay the same rules/protocol wise. Especially with Christmas coming up, the potential of exposure raises for these guys if they have family events.
