If I were to move Drais (he's my 2 year), and try to get MacKinnon, what type of pick would you try to get with MacK, since Drais is better than him at the moment, and also wing eligible?

Or do you think a package with Petey + Kaprisov + A pick would be more appealing (currently stands at a 2nd, as of last offer).

No rush to move Drais, but ideally I'd like to get a new 4 year guy going into next year, and no one I drafted I would put as a 4 year guy.

I got offered Eichel + Kane + picks by someone else, so curious people's thoughts on that. I just don't love the risk with Eichel, and Kane is great but obviously getting up there, but I'm sure he'll be a ppg guy for awhile yet.

absolutely not on the Eichel proposition; too much grey area stuff going on with him and Kane although not slowing down, IMO is too old to own when you have a 25-year old piece playing at the top of his game in Leon. In a nutshell you have the second best player in the world so dealing him for anyone not named McDavid doesn't make sense. If you're going after Mack and want a pick, aim high, ask for a first rounder.

Fair, what are your thoughts on the Petey/Kaprisov offer? I do have 2 contracts expiring this year, so I'll have 2 contracts to fill going into next year, whether it be someone I drafted this year (unlikely), or via trade, or both..

I think most people will (should?) not do a 2 for 1 trade when they're losing the clear best player in the deal and being forced to then drop a player.

I also have a hard time envisioning the owner paying MacKinnon and pick for Draisaitl, if I were the Mac owner and you came to me with an offer I would be the one wanting the pick based on the fact that you initiated the offer.

I wouldn't have to drop anyone in this 2 for 1, I'd be keeping them both, along with Quinn Hughes, and then I'd need to sign 1 more guy, and Byfield would still be my rookie. It just so happens I have both Hall and Seguin expiring this season.

And the other gm has been asking about Drais for awhile, not so much about I'm going heavy off of MacKinnon, we talked Drais v MacKinnon before, Drais is clearly better than MacK at this point, MacK is great but hasn't gone over 100 pts and has has more injuries, plus is centre only. I wouldn't hate a 1 for 1, but they aren't exactly equal atm in my opinion.
